My check engine light is on and I just shorted the service connector and got 4-long lights and one short light. So that's code 41, right?
According to the FAQ, that is Front HO2S Heater. My question is what is this sensor, and is it a DIY repair? I am pretty good at mechanics, just have never done any of these sensors.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes a 41 is an O2 sensor heater error. I have changed both of my O2 sensors, neither one of them is easy to get to and mine did not come out easy. The only thing that makes the removal easier is heat. The Acura dealer told me they run the car and get it good and hot and then remove it. I guess that works but with the close working space and everything hot it does not sound fun. I just used a Map gas torch and heated the sensor and the surrounding exhaust manifold. It takes some time to get enough heat into it but at least everything is not hot. Don't use any WD40 or other spray. For removal unplug the sensor and use whatever wrench works. For installation you will need one of those O2 sensor sockets with the slot down the side for the wires.

I just replaced my oxygen sensor after receiving a code 41. The sensor in question is bank 1, sensor 1; which is the sensor on the top of the manifold towards the rear of the car. This sensor is easily accesible (for my mechanic at least); however, please note that there are clips pre-attached to the OEM sensor, and if you want to retain those clips you must transfer them onto the new sensor's wiring.

Addendum: FYI, this was done on my '98. All OBD1 vehicles are only equipped with two O2 sensor; as oppose to the 4 on my '98.
