Clutch - Master/Slave - only 1/2" piston movement - HELP!

I have just got my Refreshed Motor back from SoS.
Acura put everything back in the car properly and now it appears the clutch does not get depressed enough to change gears.
They have re-initialized the clutch and still the same.
Rex has just talked to me and after checking with some techs at Sos has checked through stuff and has noticed that he is only getting 1/2" of travel on my piston on the clutch slave unit. Sos tells him this should be somewhere between 1" to 1.5" movement. If that is true then our 1/2" is not enough.
The car sat for 3 months outside with nothing done to it.
The clutch pedal was never touched.
The master unit was never touched.
The slave unit was taken off an hung in place with wire.
No oil is leaking anywhere, not even in the car, if that was possible.
Can someone shed some light on this for me please.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks so much
Trev

Hey Trev. Sorry I didn't call you buddy, I've been up in Fort Mac for work... I'll call you on Saturday.

I'm not sure about the NSX clutch, but I had this problem on my Talon. Have you tried to bleed the clutch at all? Is there air in the clutch lines? Actually, hell, I'm back in town now, I'll call you tomorrow after I get off work and I can swing by on Saturday if you want and help you check it out.

I would start with the cheapest thing that you could do first. Flush and bleed the clutch fluid. I would bet that there may be a small particle under a seal in the master cylinder and just needs to be flushed, possibly some moisture too. Look at the fluid that you collect at the slave during the bleed. A clear glass container like a Pyrex measuring cup works great. (Buy your won, don't take your wife's) Be sure to bleed it till clean fluid comes out. Let us know what happens.

Thanks guys, I will talk to the service manager and Max this morning.
Does anyone know the distance the piston has to travel to do its job.
No one has responded on this yet.
The think that gets me is that if nothing was wrong before, then why now.
After sitting 3 months.
Maybe the initialization is still not done right.
Maybe a prolblem with fliud vs time.
Wish we found this out before the engine was in the car.
I will suggest a bleed to the boys.
Larry has made some good comments on all this in a pm to me.
Thanks all, hope i get it rolling today.

Nope, as far as I know, they haven't got it yet.
The where going to call Larry today.
Not sure how much time they are putting in it.
I do know that they ripped the trans out once just to check the clutch pieces.
I really wish they would have taken the clutch off before we sent the engine down to Sos. Little upset about that. I know it has nothing to do with the problem, but for me, just all adds up.
I'm a little dissappointed, then I see my older daughter got a red light ticket for about 289.00.
Kind of a drag.
Into the hot tub i go to drown my sorrows.

HERE IS THE ANSWER FROM LARRY BASTANZA:
"I have a car here now, and I checked it, and it too is a 1/2 inch travel,(this car works perfectly)"
So we can only assume that my hydraulics system is working find and my problem is in the clutch initialization.
Thank you Larry for all you help and discussions with Max, my Acura Mechanic.
I will post the final outcome of this non release, non able to shift problem on my car reassembly with my stock clutch.

The problem has been solved.
I would like to thanks Larry B so much for all his efforts.
He help Mr. Acura resolve the problem with my clutch.
It apparently was a dowel pin problem.
Something to do with the secondary disc catching...
Once i find out more, I will post the truth.... for now I'm guessing at what i heard.
But she is done and ready for me to pick up and drive in the snow.
Thanks
Trev
