bra for track use

Any comment on 3M clear bra under track usage? Any long term track usage report? Any long term usage pics would be greatly appreciated :)

Henry, I think the best response would be from the Porsche owners (check their club forums) as a lot of them come with that as an option.

Having said this, and while I do not have personal experience with the 3M though I asked about before - it's all in the quality of the installation, I would think a clear bra cover would be less effective as it has less padding or thickness to absorb any flying debris or rubber pieces from the track when compared to say the OEM type bra. Also, as you get more hits, the clear types will get scratched or torn and thus look very much like pitted paint whereas you just wipe out any dirt that stick on the oem version.

Many of us who track the car use the oem type or simnilar product such as SpeedLingerie. And frankly, as we encounter more R compound tires at the tracks, I would not get on the track without one. I have seen some Porsches use a film to cover the entire front hood as well. HTH

Thnx for your input Hrant :)

I think I'm going to take your advice and get a bra for my X. Since I have the ww lip, speed lingerie is my only choice, but $600 for a car bra???? I can't really justify that amount for a car bra!!

I wonder if it's possible to customize an oem bra for the ww lip? Anybody done it before? I would rather buy a oem bra, pay $200 to get someone to customize it :)

I have 3M on my M3 racer and it works great. But I also think that rubber marks come off unprotected paint pretty easy. We also had the 3M on our 97 CL for 6 years. I just removed it this year and the paint looks new underneath. The hood took a big hit from a 12-pack container at 70 mph. Scraped the 3M, but not the paint!
