Classic Japanese Car + Classic Japanese Wheels = FTW

Wow I really love this picture of your rear wheels - can you share your offset on the front/rear wheels!

Rick..i believe they are:

18x7.5 +25
19x10.5 +35

Based on Upgrademotoring's application and fitment guides here:

I'd have to say the front is way too tucked in to be a +25. A +25 would be past the fender and this wheel is not.

It's most likely the +40 if it is 18x7.5.

The rear seems about correct. Though the wheel is available in other 19x10.5 offsets are also very close (+35, +38, and +42), so it's hard to tell.

Overall fitment on these wheels is pretty much perfect IMO.

^^ I'd agree on that fitment, rears look like +35 fronts are almost always +40 in 18X7.5.

Good call on the fronts..whoops! The +25 front would look concave. Most likely a +40...

Gangster rear...its a shame how the front fitment is so weak..

thanks guys, now you got me curious on what I'm running on my BBS LM's right now. I like a concave rear but definitely do not want to risk chewed fenders for the front. I hate how so many so called "show cars" have destroyed front fenders on closer inspection.

After I posted that, I saw your post earlier about the original fitment. . .

18x7.5 25 offset (w/ 15mm spacer) 215/35/18
19x10.5 35 offset 285/30/19

The +25 "final" offset comes from using the 15mm spacer on a 18x7.5 +40 wheel.

18x7.5 +25 is 100% possible with a low stance, and subsequent negative camber.

Yes, that may be true, but these wheels aren't +25. I double-dogg-dare you to run it though.

Here's my 18x7.5 +30 (which rubbed like crazy)

And the OP's 18x7.5 (and what I guess is +40)

And to add, ZERO rubbing with my 18x7.5 +25 using 205/35/18.

Ahh, the 205 is the secret. I might have to try that even though I don't like the idea of running smaller tires. .
Running the 18x7.5 +30 with a 215/35/18 gave tons of rubbing on the fender liner just driving straight! It's too squared off with no stretch that gives that extra few mm of clearance. . I ended up shaving 4mm off the back of the wheel, so I'm at +34 and I still rub every once in a while hitting a dip in the road.

There are so many variables involved (Tire type, amount lowered, camber) it's difficult to give a definitive answer to tell people what will/won't work when the difference are mere millimeter. For example, I had 215/35/18 (Toyo TR1) and had zero rubbing and this was running +30. Even at full lock, no rubbing. The Volk GTV's I had were 18x7.5 +33, but I used a 3mm spacer to bring it to +30.

that also brings to the point of 215 vs 205. i would prefer to run the 215 on my nsx as well, but since i want bridgestone tires, they do not have 215 40. so going to a 205 40 sized tires not only benefits from fitment/clearance issues but the tread width only shortens by .22" and overall diameter by 1.3% compared to a 215 40.

Concave fronts would match the rears better. I have TE37 16x8 +30 fronts and they concave nicely and fit with no rubbing with 205s. My rears are a little more aggressive to say the least.

Regarding center caps, the flat type would match without looking out of place.

^^^ let me know when you mount the tires on, i wanna see the new rears

215/40/18??? I wouldn't recommend that at all!

Oh, well that's fine. Kind of scared me there since we were talking about 18"s for the past few posts...
For my 17/18" set, I have the Dunlop Starspec Z1 in 215/40/17 and 255/35/18 and like them so far. .
