chipmunks under the hood

I've got a 91 that has had all the common problems so far, windows, door, compressor, and now I have chipmunks under the hood. It's a very loud, fast, squealing noise. What is this? The sound occurs on start up and goes away in a few minutes. Sometimes when I bottom out (which is all the friggin time) it will go off as well. How much and how hard to fix?
