Check engine ligh when pushing it a bit?

Hey, I noticed that whenever I bring the car past 4k RPM or whenever I try to push it to go fast the check engine light goes on. The car is still running fine.

Any ideas? Thanks folks. I have a 1991.

Jump the blue service connector under the passenger side with a paper clip. Turn the key on without starting it. Code the flashes. Check the wiki for how the read the codes

could be the 02 sensors you have 2 on your 91. after you turn the car off and restart it does the check engien light go off but then comes on only when you push the car a little.

my bet is 02 sensors

above is correct, also were you running different fuel to normal that may have made the 02 sensors react

does your car rev to 8k..or is the max revs lower?
