Yes but they don't carry all brands and sizes.

Probably not the best choice. Be careful which website you use. Discount Tire has "brick and mortar" stores, and also has an online division that sells and ships tires. The discounttire.com website is for their brick and mortar stores. The website you need to use to have tires shipped to you is discounttiredirect.com where prices are less than at the discounttire.com website.

Note that Discount Tire Direct, their mail-order division, provides free shipping. Their website prices tend to be slightly higher than the tire prices at the Tire Rack, but when you look at the bottom line (including shipping for the Tire Rack), Discount Tire Direct is frequently less expensive than Tire Rack.

Tire Rack now carries Hankook and Toyo tires, so there aren't many major brands they don't carry. Discount Tire Direct carries Falken, which Tire Rack doesn't.

I have checked onlinetires.com and although they carry a variety of brands, their prices are not usually as good as Discount Tire Direct or Tire Rack. Of course, it never hurts to check.

Ship it to point roberts and pick it up. They usually charge shipping by the tire anyways so whether you bundle all 4 tires or order them seperately they charge the same shipping/tire. Ship them 2 at a time to avoid taxation at the border, they usually will charge tax and duty at the border if your purchase is too expensive. 2 tires usually around $300-$400? If you're lucky the should not charge you, depends on their mood on the day too. NEVER LIE about charges to the CBSA because they WILL find out haha.:biggrin: fingers cross i have never been charged taxes and duty for tires before.

HOWEVER, even if you get charged, it might be worth it because if you get tires in Vancouver/ Canadian website, not only are our MSRP like 20-30% more to begine with, they charge you taxes anyways. Depending on where the tire is made, at the border if they decide to charge you, they might charge you HST + extra 6.1% Duty (for all products made out of North America) totally 18.1%. So do the math :tongue:

Check again. I think I've compared their prices against Tire Rack and Discount Tire Direct 30-40 times, and they may have had the lowest prices once out of those 30-40 times.

Still, it's worth checking, and it only takes a minute. But don't bet on the total cost at onlinetires being less than Discount Tire Direct or Tire Rack.

I have tried all them.

The reason for this thread is because i live in the UK. Tire Rack do not accept UK Paypal payments.

Tried Discounttires and they don't either.

Summit Racing however do but they are $50, they will price match for me but.. i will have to use a credit card, not a big issue apart from i have to manually email my details across which i don't like doing.

Just make sure about the manufacturer date. I purchased some tires from Discount tires direct for my 911 and the tires lasted 1000 miles, almost down to the cords since i bought them before a driving vacation and noted it after I got home. Looked at the date and 7 years old. Problem was that the size no longer available and had to buy whole new set.

The problems i had was using a paypal account from outside the US. Tirerack said no, simply. Summit Racing would price match Tirerack but i had to pay by Credit Card, over the phone isn't a problem but over email isn't ideal. So it was DiscountTiresOnline who didn't just match the price they beat it for me and i used my Paypal address Wahoo...

He said i could pass on his details which i will do later.

Oh and thanks for all the help, much appreciated.

Now i need to book a track session to finish off my current tires. They are still legal but... the Police over here make the rules up and bend them to suit. I can't risk that and give them any excuses.

I already have 3 point and a fine for parking!!! Apparently it's legal to Street Race but Illegal to watch in the UK according to the Essex Police, really??!!

No, it doesn't, not most of the time anyhow. Compare their prices AFTER SHIPPING (and any applicable sales tax) against Discount Tire Direct and the Tire Rack, and they are usually higher. Not always, but usually. Remember, Discount Tire Direct's prices may appear to be higher, but when you take into account their free shipping, Discount Tire Direct is usually less. (Also, Vulcan only carries a few brands, nowhere near the selection of Tire Rack or DTD.)

But you don't need to take my word for it. When you want to buy tires, check all the big websites - Discount Tire Direct, Tire Rack, Vulcan, Onlinetires, and any others. It doesn't take long to check. You'll see which is the best for any particular make/model/sizes of tire. When I've done so, DTD has been the lowest about 75-80 percent of the time, and Tire Rack 15-20 percent of the time. Nobody else comes close.

Back when the Falken Azenis RT215 were all the rave, I got a set for my other car from vulcantire.com They had competitive prices and excellent service. When I'm looking for tires, it's one of the places I check.

I contacted him via email as that was easiest for me.

He matched TireRacks price and then beat it.

Perhaps someone with better negotiation skills can perhaps negotiate a club discount?

Would be good to have a rep for Prime.

I haven't found anyone cheaper than www.treaddepot.com. Their customer service is awesome too. Cheaper shipping, no tax etc etc
