I have a gasy smell when starting up my car in the mornings. some worse than others. i was told to replace the 02 sensors to see if that would help. so i bought some and plan to exchange them this weekend. my question is do i need to reset anything( and if so what and how) are just install and the computers will do the rest?? also, will i have to change out plugs since its be running rich are will that adjust its self after replacing 02 sensors. the car is not running rough at this point put it is occasionally getting harder to start. It is having to turn over more than usual.

Put the new sensors in and pull the clock fuse (resets ECU). The plugs will "clean themselves" if this issue is fresh.

Though, it sounds like your real problem might be that your main relay is on the fritz.

if the main relay is on the fritz how could i diagnosis that?? and what is involved with that?? replacing the relay.. if so where is it and and how much.

how to locate clock fuse to reset. only had the car 2 weeks just learning how to open the glovebox. lol thanks for the quick response

Front Passenger side fuse box under the hood. Pull the 7.5 amp fuse out for ten seconds. BUt....it should not really be necessary:)

any pearls of wisdom for changing out the o2 sensors?? need all the help i can get. should i spray with pb blaster first?? how tight do i tighten them.
lastly with ntk sensors are the same length of oem or will i have to splice them. thanks

NO PB Blaster!!!!! The manual should give you the TQ. Do the new sensors have connectors on them, or are there just the four wire connectors? You may want to purchase a O2 sensor tool from a Schucks, Checker, Auto Zone etc. They really help. If you have an OEM exhaust, the bolts on the heat shields are step ONE.

use a o2 sensor tool

best $7 you'll ever spend.

you can get them at pep boys. or any automotive store.

there are 2 designs, i recommend the oen with the open top and works best for our nsx.

you should have the car warmed up and heated up.

happy motoring.
