You probably should. They are'nt really gaskets, they are copper orings if I remember correctly. They compress flat when all bolted up. They're not very pricey. Hardest part is getting the rusty nuts off. I actually bought new stainless nuts at my local hardware store.
 
The one definitive thing you will need is a can or two of PB blaster. It penetrates rusty bolts... or at least helps to. That, and to prevent stripping the already soft nuts, use only 6 star sockets for your ratchet.

Everything else is pretty straightforward. I don't know if it helped any, but I went through about 2 cans of PB blaster, and soaked the bolts both cold and hot for about 2 days straight before I attempted this job.

Just make them tight.
