Finally got to put my OBD II scanner to use when my CEL came on.

The code is for the O2 sensor heater unit bank 1 sensor 1. I assume this is the upstream O2 sensor (or at least its heater unit).

Any hints on its location before I go digging under the lid?

Thanks

P0135 is: Rear Primary HO2S Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 1)

This is located in the rear exhaust side BEFORE the cat:)

And I would not clear the code whatever you do. If you take EIFFEL's advise and get it covered under warranty (and I certainly would) the dealer probabally will not do anything if the light is not on when you go in, and there is no code stored. As with many O2 codes, this one is often intermittant in the early stages of failure. (usually due to heat related changes in resistance in the heater)

Does that 14 year emission warranty cover 98's as well? Or just 95?

I am pulling the same code on mine.

do you know what the part number is for o2 sensor with direct fit (no splicing)?

thanks!

36532-PBY-J01 SENSOR, RR. PRIMARY OXYGEN is the OEM P/N

I would check with SoS since the price of the above is just stupid;).

I purchased bank 1 sensor 1 denso firect fit from oxygensensor.com $110 shipped.

connections were good but wasnt impressed with the wire wrapping.

the one I purchased didnt fit as snug into the brackets as the OEM did.

I ended up zip tying it to the brakets to ensure it would stay and not risk melting.

Like Larry Recommended,

I should have ordered from SoS.
