CEL code help

Hi Everybody,

Today my check engine light came on. I used the FAQ procedure for checking the CEL code and I got:

L-L-L-L-S-S

My guess is that this code is a 42 (4 long blinks and 2 short). If that is the case, it would seem like one of my 02 sensors, or it's wiring, is bad.

Am I correct in my code translation and problem assessment?

Yes you are correct.

Yours is REAR 02 sensor heater failure. Means the heating element in the 02 sensor is probably bad. The service manual tells you how to check the sensor on page 11-32. This is a typical failure.

Just to be sure, this is a 1991-94 car correct?

Do a search here and see where Russ did a write up in this. You will need to butt splice four wires. Well worth the savings.
