93 with I/H/E, dinan chip, test pipes.
Noticed a few hundred miles ago a slight miss. The miss went away and then has come back intermittantly. Today, it would go from a severe miss to none at all. It will only do this at slight throttle and clears up on WOT. Most apparant at about 2900 rpms but seems to go through the rev range at partial throttle. Tonight it tripped a code 44. Help!!
Any ideas? Code 44 is a rear fuel supply code??

I'm pretty sure that 44 is a bad O2 sensor. The problem clearing up at WOT would make sense since the O2 sensor is not used in open loop.

Ok, the manual says it is a rear o2 sensor. But then goes on to tell you if you get this code, check the fuel injectors. Does code 44 mean replace the o2 sensor or is the code tripped because of a fuel delivery problem. If I had a bad injector it would probably not clear up at WOT right?

The book says it could be an O2 sensor problem OR a fuel suppy problem depending if you are or are not having a drivability problem which you are if it is missing...

I doubt it's a faulty O2 sensor. It can make the ECU change fuel trim to a point, I don't think it would change it to the point where the engine misses.
Same as if it went lean, it wouldn't change the fuel trim til the engine melted down.

I would check the injectors and injector resistors first, I would put my chips there. You may find that the O2 sensors may test lazy as well, they don't last forever and being that the car was probably made in 92 it's probably time to change them out anyway.

We change out o2 sensors on 90ish Hondas/Acuras pretty regularly.
