Are the cantrell side skirt system ok in rain Here in fl. we get some pretty hard rain, Don't know if its worth risking getting water in motor, Anybody have experience with these. thanks

I don't think they are recommended in heavy rain. You can drill a drain hole though.

You should not drive in heavy rain with these nor direct the water hose at it during washing. If you drive your car in the rain stay away of it.

I am not sure why the side skirt system would cause any problems in the rain?

However, if you really mean the Cantrell air intake funnel that replaces the OEM air intake duct, you might want to check this thread:

If you do a search you will find others, the question has been asked before.
As for using that system in the rain, I've been using it in all kinds of weather circumstances and never had any problem with it.
Of course, if you would direct a powerfull waterhose directly into the intake, it might make it up into the airfilter and soak that with water, but that is not exactly what happens during driving in the rain.

Water in the engine is one problem, corrosion of the throttle plate is the other you want to avoid.
