Can you rebuild the Break Master Cylinder?

Anyone know if you can rebuild the NSX Break Master Cylinder? I think most Master Cylinder failed can be fix by changing some pieces inside? Replace the whole thing is too costly.

I don't believe a rebuild kit is available for the NSX Master Cylinder.
Neillo Acura gives a 30% discount to NSXCA Members on parts.
Membership is $40 per year which you would more then save on a Master Cylinder purchase.

rebuild seal kit available from japan

Honda stopped selling rebuild kits for things like master cylinders in the US for a couple of years now. But they are still available from Japan if you know someone who can order it for you. Here's the part number:

01462-SL0-950 10600yen (a little less than $100)

From the diagram, it includes the primary and secondary plungers along with all the seals and circlips needed to rebuild the master cylinder.

Now you may need to refer to an old Honda service manual for a different car to get instructions on how to rebuild the MC if you don't know how.

$100 for a rebuild kit??? That's nuts. That stuff made sense when a kit was a few bucks and the new part ten times as much, and no big deal if it doesn't work out. But I wouldn't bet $100 and all the effort for a rebuild that may or may not last very long.

Well, perhaps I should've posted the diagram but the rebuild kit doesn't seem to include just the seals. But whole new primary and secondary plungers in the MC (the parts that actually do the work). Given that the demand is low, the price for NSX parts are just high. An extreme example is the radio cover plate for the NSX-R is a whopping 30000yen (that's like $300).

But I have no doubt that this will resolve a bad seal problem in your MC because this kit is probably what Honda uses in their rebuilt MC that they sell you. It will all be in your "skill" as a rebuilder to do it right.

Wasn't there someone selling a brand new MC just not too long ago?

Unless the problem is more than a bad seal, like a scored cylinder. Not likely I agree, especially since the kit comes with the pistons/plungers, but still a gamble. And Honda probably takes a fine hone to the cylinder during the rebuild. I used to make do with 600 grit emery, but the risks were low.
