I'm wondering what NSX model-years the following keyless-entry unit would work on (or if it's even NSX-specific)...

P/N: 08E60-SPO-200R2

FCC ID: GJ808E60-01

I used the "search" here on 'Prime and also checked various online OEM Acura parts stores, but I couldn't locate anything w/ this part number.

I have a '91 NSX, and I know that the OEM keyless-entry system for '91-'92 models is now discontinued.

I appreciate it if anyone can offer any insight on this, in a timely manner!

Thanks, in-advance!

Hi,

i just bought a set from a Prime member...i have the box here and the part number is 08E60-SL0-201F, and when i insert it on www.acuraautomotiveparts.org it says it is for a NSX 93-05.
I find that weird, as the 93 NSX are OBDI and clearly the 05 NSX is OBDII.
My car is from 94/95, i hope it works, and from the part number it is supposed to work.

when i manually choose a 92 NSX and go to the ACCESSORIES - ELECTRICAL the part number 08E60-SL0-200R2 shows as MAIN BRAIN, and 08E61-SL0-20004 is labeled as POUCH, KEYLESS ENTRY

Didn't you mistyped SL0 as SP0 ??!

hope it helps

You should have no problem'o... the two keyless-entry systems for the NSX were '91-'92 and '93+. OBDI/OBDII is more ECU/emissions-related, as to the best of my know-how!

Thanks for the #'s. I simply cut-pasted the P/N listed by the individual who has the keyless-entry system.

I will contact them regarding the typo, hopefully it does indeed match the '92 model's P/N!

Thanks, man!

EDIT: I typed in 08E60-SP0-200R2 into another online OEM Acura parts store, seems this keyless-entry is meant for:

Code:
P/N: 08E60-SP0-200R2 / MAIN BRAIN, REMOTE

LEGEND: '92 - '95
TL: '96 - '97
VIGOR: '92 - '94

Grrr... :(

Just today I installed an oem keyless entry in my 1994 NSX which was reportedly taken off a 2002 NSX in favor of an aftermarket system. After installation, the system is functioning normally, to include arming the antitheft system. Below are actual photos of the Acura keyless entry system I just installed today - note the part number on the ECM in the picture below - also note that the ECM says "Acura Keyless Entry System" and not "Acura NSX Keyless Entry System". This leads me to believe that you may be able to use the ECM with the SPzero part number - just because it doesn't have an SLzero part number doesn't necessarily rule it out. While I can't say with certainty, I would be willing to bet that the ECM with the part number you referenced would work on your 1991. If you could get it for cheap (or already have it, plus the wiring harness) it might be worth a try.

On the other hand, word on the street is that an aftermarket system is less expensive and more functional.

Some Acura parts, particularly early nineties Legend parts, are interchangeable with early NSX parts. I am not absolutely certain about this either, but I think that the 08E60 part number denotes the earlier (NSX as well as other cars) version of the keyless entry system, and that the 08E61 part number denotes the later version. This leads me to believe that a brain with a 08E60 part number has a good chance of working in your 1991 NSX. Again, I am not absolutely certain about this, but trying to make an educated guess.

The original remote is functioning normally. I am working on programming the other remote in the picture, plus another original remote I already had lying around in a drawer.

Is there any way to rewire the 93 and up to work on a 91?
I don't plan on leaving my car anywhere so an aftermarket alarm is not really needed but I hate having to use a key to unlock my door so I would really like the factory unit. I am picking up a 91, does anyone have a line on where a 91-92 OEM system might be?

here is a picture of my '91 dealer installed keyless label.
It was installed in February, 1991.

part number: 08E61-SLO-2000-02

So much for my part number theory...

Thanks, that link contains very useful information. After perusing your thread, I see that my SP1 Keyless Entry, which is installed, working, and controlling my factory-installed antitheft system, is actually a part number for a 1991-1995 Acura Legend Coupe (2-door). This is another example of parts interchangability between early NSXs and early Legends. This leads me back to believing that it might be possible to use or modify that SP0 (Acura Legend 4-door) keyless entry system and get it to work.

Given a little ambition and electrical knowledge, I'm sure it's possible. It's just not something that you'd want to approach with a perfunctory once-over.

I can always help you puzzle this out with diagrams from the Legend manuals in .pdf if you need.

nopes...

Osiris_x11, do you have this keyless entry system (08E60-SP0-200R2), and if so, did you try it?
Jett, I didn't acquire that OEM keyless-entry system, as it was sold to someone else. This was on ebay.

The particular seller is a vendor of import vehicle's OEM electronics (ie. stereos, nav' systems, keyless-entry/alarm-systems, etc'). I told him to let me know if he comes across something similar to that again.

So is that a suitable replacement for those of us who can't buy KES anymore? Is it still available?
