Hey guys,

The wifey is planning to buy me a Go-pro camera.
I love that little cam, but I would like to look into something that can record data and overlay it on the video.

I was looking at the smartycam but I am not sure if that one will work with the NSX computer.

Are you guys using one, which one? I know they get their speed from a GPS signal but what about braking, accelaration and RPM? I am guessing they have to someone hook to the ECU?

Video VBOX. Records data and video, but they aren't cheap. $1400. SmartyCam is up there also 1300 euros (will work with AME EMS).

Personally, that's a lot of coin. I have 50+ videos of me on the track and never bothered to overlay the data to the video (Traqmate won't work with the Mac). To tell you the truth after a while they all look the same, except for some of my spins. :) I have a $200 HD camera and $500 for the datalogger.

These are from the Video Vbox...

PS. GoPro sucks! The sound is awful and the new ones have a super wide angle fisheye that is TOO wide angle.

Ye, I think you're right, The I think the use would be minimun for me untill I get faster or until I get my self onto real racing.

I love the GO-PRO, The wide angle feature is great for me, It allows me to see what I am doing inside the car too.
For example I notice I look at my rear view mirror when I am being chased, And thats not good.

The sound is great, you can remove the backing of the case and used the one with slots and it'll filter better sound, Ill stick to that one for now,

Thanks,
