Hello to all of my fellow Colorado NSX Owners.

I wish I knew who each of you are, but I don't and that is the problem! I have a solution to offer each of you if you share my enthusiasm in making the best of the wonderful state of Colorado by getting our cars on some roads and getting to know one another.

I am organizing some regular events for us to all attend and participate in. I see sporatic postings by other CO owners on PRIME but don't know who you are. Check out this one as an example--- http://www.nsxprime.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=32039 -- Mike count me in.

I have been working with some great guys at Pikes Peak Acura, Jeff, Brian, Paul and Bob, on several things for us all to enjoy. The first of these being a 'get together' at their dealership, Pikes Peak Acura of Colorado Springs, on June 5 @ 9:30 AM. This will be the first of several regular get togethers.

At this one, I want to get all of us together. I can share some of my thoughts and ideas for us and share some of the things that are already in the works. For example, track days and times(PPIR and Second Creek), various performance parts and sources- some for future potential discounts, and a top-notch mechanic and LOCAL shop that can work on our cars, including aftermarket performance stuff.

I thought we might be able to get a noon drive in up HWY 24 through Divide?? Depending on interest, I'll work on that.

From this meet and feedback from all of you, I will set up future events. Please help us all out and plan on attending this first event. At a minimum, send me an email with your contact info and I'll get a Colorado list put together- including email distribution!

Thanks all and look forward to seeing and meeting you.

Hi Bryan, I may be able to make it on the 5th, I'm on vacation that week and had planned on coming to the front range for a few days to play around and get a good detail done on my car. I live in Silt, CO about 160 miles west of Denver on I-70. I have a '95 red/black.

On a side note, anyone know a good (safe) hotel to use with covered parking in/around Denver?

My regular email is [email protected]

Glad that someone in Colorado is trying to organize some events.

As far as Pikes Peak Acura goes all I can say is that one of their mechanics wrecked one of our cars driving like an idiot and instead of doing all they could to rectify the mistake they attempted to blame us for some of the damage. This after buying 2 cars from them and having them do thousands of dollars in service to our cars. I wouldn't let them repair my lawnmower let alone our NSX. So if your gonna deal with them buyer beware.

Sorry to hear about your experience with Pikes Peak Acura- I'm surprised! Given your posting, is it safe to assume that you aren't coming on June 5th since they are hosting it? I would like to have as many attend as possible. If not, could you please drop me an email with your email address, name, and some of the things you would like to see the Colorado NSX owners participate in this year- kind of a proxy vote.

As I said earlier, I hope you will consider attending. PP Acura will be involved- participating and supporting- many of the events as I work to get the Colorado owners together moving forward!

Wil,
I'd love to see you come in from Silt! We'll make it worth your while and get a mountain pass drive in that afternoon. I emailed you.

I'll be looking for attendance confirmation from all expressing interest as we get closer.

Thanks
Brian

I had looked at NSXs at Pike's Peak for 3 years and was ready to get one from PP Acura a month ago. I went in and wanted to lease one. They rudely said, "We are NOT participating in that lease program that Acura has on NSXs!!!" They were really rude about it. So, I went back, because the Lexus dealer is across the street where my SC430 was being serviced. They said, this time, "We would do a lease, but it would be $1000 or $2000 more than what Acura is offering, and there would be some other "details" that would be different." I walked out and found the silver NSX I wanted in Texas. Called Sterling Acura in Austin and we did the deal in about 2 hours. Shipped it up here. PP Acura keeps calling wanting to get me into their NSX, and crying about how it's only a couple of thousand dollars difference. I don't think I will buy from them in the future. They were very unprofessional, rude, and inconsiderate. I've seen Kia dealerships show more customer care. I appreciate their sponsorship of events, and might be there on the 5th. I was just saying this as posted before.....buyer beware!! Thanks Brian for all you are doing. Look forward to meeting you.

Francesco Crisafulli was my salesperson and he did what he could to help. His hands were tied by the higher ups in the dealership. I wanted to clarify that my post was referring more about the sales manager etc. than about Mr. Crisafulli. He has always been courteous and attentive. I didn't mean to offend him, but the dealership experience at PP was well below other Acura dealerships I've done business with.

Your the second person I have heard from who tried to buy an NSX from them and was treated this way, he also bought his out of state and loves it. It's unfortunate that the representation for such a good brand and car is so terrible in our city, but if you've ever met the GM of the dealership you would understand why.

Well, at the moment I appear to have the weekend of June 5-6 free. I will likely attend Mike's get together at Colorado CP on Sunday, so why not make a whole weekend of it. Driving down SH 83 is often a hoot -- far better than I-25.

I bought a 93 Black/Black a month ago and have already put 2,000 miles on it -- mostly on a trip to New Mexico. Found out that NSXs do very well in snow and mud. We tried to get to Chaco Canyon, but the wash just outside the actual Park was running and we chose to follow the sign's advice of "Do Not Enter Wash if Water is Running. So it was 12 miles of hell driving in and another 12 miles driving out. Oh well -- NSXs are ment to DRIVE.

These things are a hoot

June 6 Car Show

If anyone needs a registration form, just PM me with your email and I'll send it back...I have secured the signage from the NSXCA and a spot for all of us to park together...so, we are ready...now just get those cars cleaned up from the winter...and, see you there...

Mike

June 5 @ Pikes Peak

Does anyone want from Denver want to drive down together?...Maybe we could all meet somewhere...Like the Safeway Parking Lot at Castle Pines Parkway on I-25?...from there, we'd be about 45 minutes away...

Mike

Thanks for those of you that responded so far. I am traveling this weekend and have limited web access so I will not be able to respond to everyone via email and PM until early next week. Please have any other Colorado NSX owners that you know reply to this post- the more the merrier!

Thanks and I look forward to meeting you on the 5th!

On the 5th huh......still thinking ....

What's to think about!! Lets get everyone together for the start of the summer and make some plans! Remember- tell the other NSX owners!

Apparently there is a Colorado NSX group on Yahoo that I'm going to try to find tonight. I hear several owners use that forum. I will try to get signed up into that group and pull everyone together for the 5th/6th weekend activities and more!

Thanks

I would be up for driving to the springs as a group on the 5th, and I am also planning on attending the car show on the 6th.

I am particularly interested in finding a top notch mechanic, since I really need to get the timing belt and water pump done. I was actually hoping to do it in May, so if anyone has a good suggestion for a mechanic, I would love to hear it.

I am also planning to get it detailed before the show. Is Extreme Auto Detailing still the best?

I look forward to seeing everyone on the 5th and 6th

The Yahoo group is called nsxco.

LrdVadar,
Regarding a top notch mechanic, you should call Brian at Pikes Peak Acura(719 633-1500) and at least get a quote. Thier NSX mechanic, Paul, is top notch, quick and VERY familiar with NSX's. I can't speak for the sales dept, but their service dept is anything but rude. These guys spend lots of time with their customers- both on and off the track. Whether it's performance or OEM service, these guys are great.

Call Brian and tell him I recommended you. As a result of the effort to get a solid group together, Pikes Peak has said they will provide special support for us; pricing a part of that and to be determined by the success of this group!

Looking forward to meeting you on the 5th.

Thanks

Any idea how many NSXs we have going to Co Springs in June? There was mention of possible PPIR activities. Is that still in the works? I can't wait.

I am planning to be there. Are the denver folks still meeting in Castle Pines?

Drive to Springs on June 5

Hi Steve...I am up for driving down together...

Brian...do you want to join Steve and I?

Anyone else????....I think if we meet at the parking lot of Safeway at Castle Pines Parkway off of I-25 at 8:30...we should have enough time to get to Pikes Peak Acura by 9:30...

See you all then...we'll leave no later than 8:40...

Mike

Is anyone coming up from the south?? I'd like to caravan up as well. Any Pueblo NSXers or Albuquerque NSXers coming up?? Give me a holler if you are.

Brian,

I can't make it to the June event as I will be out of town, but please put me on your Colorado list for future events. Thanks.

John

Hello all,
im a newbie here and from colorado.
Is anyone selling a used NSX in the state?
I have looked in quite a few places but only seem to find them on the west coast and lots in florida, im guessing cause the weather there.

If anyone is selling one in the area, please let me know!!

thanks
David

Hi David,
My experience was that better deals are on the east coast, I shopped for about 6 months in Denver, Colorado Springs, and Ft. Collins. I didn't find any cars that were in great condition, and a few were in absolutely horrible condition (anyone see the 97 yellow at Rocky Mtn. autosport last year?). Most were also higher mileage (and price) than what I was looking for. I ended up going to Florida, although the logistics of a long distance purchase do complicate matters somewhat. Good Luck

Yeah, im starting to expand my search for the NSX but its always nice to find one close to where you live. Looks like i'll have to fly out to where the car is and check it out if i find a good one. Thanks for the advice tho :)

RM Autosport

Hey Will...I was looking at the time RM Autosport had that 97 for sale...honestly, it was the car that convinced me to look for a 97+ because of the many attributes of a 97+...but, I agree...the paint and body work on that car was baaadd....I hope you agree I made the right decision on my NSX...same year, same color...look forward to meeting you this weekend...Mike

Is there a time we are supposed to meet at Pike's Peak Acura this Saturday?? Anything we need to bring (i.e. coolers, drinks, etc.)??There was mention of PPIR time. Is that still possible?? I'm new to this. I can't wait to see all of your NSXs. It should be fun!!! Take care.
