Could someone please confirm for me the torque values for the 2 bolts used to mount the rear calipers onto their braquets ? just double checking as the number that I got seems a bit low...

thank you in advance
alex
92 NSX

14 mm caliper to bracket bolts = 36 lbs.
17 mm bracket bolts = 80 lbs.

The only 17mm bolts I had to remove were these 2
These are the ones that should be bolted at 80 ft.lbs, right ?
thank you

Which ones are the 14mm ? I didn't have to use a 14mm socket at all when removing the rear calipers ?

I sure did. If your NSX is like mine, there are 2 - 14 mm bolts that hold the caliper to the caliper bracket and 2 - 17 mm bolts that mount the caliper bracket. Dano has some great pics on his web that should clear it up for you. See http://www.danoland.com/nsxgarage/index.html .

The 10mm (14mm head) bolts hold the caliper to the caliper bracket. The 12mm (17mm head) bolts hold the caliper bracket to the knuckle. If you removed the entire assembly (bracket and caliper) you would have only removed the 17mm head bolts.

I see ! I used another procedure and I removed the entire caliper, caliper-bracket assembly. It was not fun trying to put the new pads over the entire assembly with the mecanism in place moving up and down. I still managed it ok (took me 1.5 hours for both sides!) but in the future I will try DanO's procedure. Seems much simplier. Tx for the link

This is what I did... hence I belive I need to torque those back to 80 ft.lbs.

thank you

Yep, it would be the two 14 mm bolts that you did not take off that would be torqued to 36#.
