California Personalized Plate Search?

I'm thinking of getting a new personalized plate, but when I go to the CA DMV's web site, the plate search page seems to have vanished. The only options now are just to order the plate and hope no one else already has it, I guess.

Am I missing something? Can anyone else find the old search page? Thanks...

Yep its gone....dont know what happened either...even the page with similar plates is gone too...if you have AAA you might want to call them up..

Can't you just use this page, go enter the plate #s in the next page, and see whether its available or not when they prompt u to order?

If someone already has the plate, it will tell you that the plate has been taken and cannot be ordered.

Like RyRy210 asks, yeah, just put in the info where prompted, and it'll tell you if it's taken or not.

(This newer version sucks. Takes too long.)
