Calgary NSX Meet OCT!

It was nice to meet everyone today. Brent sure has me thinking about a turbo sometime in the near future. It will probably have to wait until the other projects are done first though. *lol* I also liked the side skirts and front spoilers on "the Beav's" car. I even like the look of the DRL's so maybe a driving light upgrade is in my future.

On the way home I had a little competition with a new M3 convertible. He was in front and I was behind. Each time he got the jump and I slowly reeled him in. I backed off each time when I felt I got too close for the speed or if I saw something ahead (traffic, etc.) where he would be braking hard. Not sure how he saw things. For all I know he might report a "kill" on the BMW forums because I backed off but at least I know now that I can pull on them in if I wish. The only reason I didn't pass was we were on a double solid with oncoming traffic. When we turned off he went north and I went south. We gave each other a thumbs up/nod and went on our way.

Hi everyone, Happy Thanksgiving!

Just wanted to follow up on our Calgary meet today, weather turned out nice for us it was sunny and +18 or hotter, most of us showed up around 12:30pm at Chestermere lake and we all met each other 5 cars total, Damthatbeaver,sinisfun,RJMcmillan,soloracer951 and myself Maximumyield.
I think it turned out pretty good for a 1st meet ever for a few of us new owners this summer.
We had a red, black x2, silver and yellow as seen in the pics.
I got to meet some of the locals and seen there rides, was a pleasure to meet u guys :)

All the guys and the cars were very cool, we had a few different colors, and different looks, from stock to modded it was very interesting.
I think Chestermere was good place to meet, and hope to see more cars in the future.

No 1 mentioned yet that I did a fast run so everyone could hear the lovefab turbo exhaust sound, and i ripped 3 gears or so across the bridge and back, a short run, anyhow after I got back a bylaw officer seemed to follow me into the lot where we were parked, and he was asking who owned the yellow one hehe, everyone was like not me lol, I said me why, anyhow I went for a walk with him and he asked me politely to not do that again so close to the town.He told me to go on the highway 3 blocks away and do what I want hehe.
He was a nice guy, he even chatted with us for 10 mins or so, and I even asked him on his way out I said (did it at least sound good?) he gave me thumbs up and said next time he see's that car go fast like that he had better be driving it haha.
Thought I would share my little episode with everyone, I agreed with the guy and said I will be a good boy next time I come out.
No tickets or nothing.

But I told my family over dinner and my Brother said bylaw cant ticket me for driving or anything car related? does anyone know? Maybe he just wanted a excuse to have a look at our cars? not that it matters.
Also he liked all the NSX's too, he agreed thay were excellent cars and everyone in the group chatted for a few mins with him.

We seen a blue/tan ferrari drive past and slowed down ,gave us all thumbs up, we wanted to invite him to the parking lot but he kept driving.

Cody(sinisfun) funny I got home and looked at my pics on the camera and was going to upload a few and than logged on to Prime and there thay were haha, I thought u had my camera for a second as many of my pics are identical to the ones you uploaded, I will find a few but good job posting them and man speedy hehe, I eat dinner go home and allready 2 posts from you guys.
We will have to meet with you guys up north in Edmonchuck next spring and have a well planned Alberta meet foresure.

Anyhow we took some photo's, talked some stories, RJM had to leave a little earlier, the rest of us went into the pub and had a bite to eat and a couple drinks and chatted it up for a couple hours.
I had the camera in hi res, 1600x1200 and the size is too large, I have to figure a way to shrink these files without degrading the quality to upload, but Cody covered most of it allready.

1 more thing Thanks to Stacy'sNSX for all the help, I was able to enjoy a very cool well built NSX this summer for a couple months (finally :) hope you are working on another X soon bud!, also Cody from Lovefab turbo(tinker219) for making the turbo in this car happen for me this summer too. What a treat that is
oh yea that youtube 8sec 1/8 mile run looks sick too hehe, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5kOAgS4iL6k cant even change the gears fast enough with that power.

Glad some of you finally could see and hear the lovefab turbo today, I find it amazingly fun to drive a NSX under boost.

Thanks for the advice. Getting a new door is a must - even at $3800 that was quoted for one. On another note, my 89 951 has 300 rwhp (1 bar) with a Vitesse Stage III turbo. What turbo is on your race car? Just out of curiosity.

I have a buddy who just bought a Vitesse set up - What I have is a 2.8 L motor running a modified K26 - my car was built by Fiorano, and is SUPER reliable - I have about 50 days of hard running and no engine work at all needed!

BTW with the 2.8 I get more torque and combined with an S2 gearbox I have a set up that is perfect for big tracks.

I run a full monoball suspension and Koni Cup suspension (like the eibachs, but used on the last generation of the Cup cars)

You guys out in Calgary should listen to Stu re about a Calgary Chapter of the NSX Club of Canada.

There is TONS to be gained and we will help. All you need is about 3 guys who are willing to spend some time and effort getting it going.

Sorry I'm late in seeing this post. My ride has been parked for the year since my last track day 2 weeks ago. I have a seized rear drivers caliper so need to attend to that first anyway. Would like to do this in mid Spring and get at least 6-10 cars out. Doing this will require one individual to champion the effort. I am prepared to step up to the plate to contact everyone, but at this present time I can only do this via PM on Prime here. If any of you desire to do this in the spring and are fine with divulging a day/evening phone number along with a current email addy, I will contact each of you to talk NSX now and in the spring when weather breaks and the most people can attend.

Cheers
Tim

Great idea buddy...I like it...my ride is basically garaged most of the time and I only bring her out now when I need to take the afternoon off for a dentist or holsitic doctor appointment and go downtown...its good to give the people a show...lol...they all wonder..."what the hell is this guy doing driving around at noon time...when I have to go back to work?"...lol...If they only knew that I was an elementary school teacher...lol...lol...any way...I love the idea and I know that John will join in as well. By the way...did I meedt you and your girlfriend out front of the deerfoot Canadian Tire -way back around January of 07?

Dam

Sorry I couldn't make it to the meet. Looks like a great group of cars! last minute booking so I was flying out to Vegas that night. I'll try to make it to the next one. Would like to meet some of you guys cause I don't see many NSX's on the road.

Brent you are very welcome, however every time I see it makes me want it back!!!!
I am not building another one,I bought something that is exactly opposite of a NSX,however,I am trying to sell it as we speak !!!
I do still search the "For sale" column regularly,FWIW !
Anyway,glad you are happy !!!

Stacy

Great pics guys.

Stacy, good to see you still troll the boards. You need to get back into it bro ;)

What do you want Stacy to get back at?

Buying an NSX. Ripping it apart THE NEXT DAY. Not being able to put it back together. Having his shell sit, ENGINELESS for years while he makes molds of molds made from molds? Then to put it all back together he sends a few boxes'o'parts to SOS 3 YEARS AFTER HE BOUGHT THE CAR. He goes down to SOS with a trailer, drives the car half way home and trailors it the rest. Gets home, drives the car for a few hundred kms and then promptly sells it.

The guy put on less than 500 kms in 4 years!

That Stacy, he's one crazy mo'fo.

First off,I must say WOW,I really am flattered by the response I get from you guys (even if I paid for your friendship by selling you parts at a substantial loss),LOL !!
You guys are worth every penny I may have lost giving you the deals, and I mean it......REALLY !

I never left Prime,LOL !!
I just don't sign in as much.
However,I do not sit hours upon hours staring at the screen anymore,LOL !
I actually have a life back.

Brent did buy one CLEAN car !!!

You can ask Brent how hard it was to sell.

Now as far as the "Crazy MO'FO" club, that should have it's own thread.
Yes,I did all of what Dave said except for one thing.......I didn't drive it any distance home,it was trailered all the way back to Canada then stored for the snow-fall.

As far as the "Crazy MO'FO club"
Dave I think you are right there with me !!!
I will be back soon guys,We are just in the process of developing more parts.
I met a guy in AZ when I was down there who shares the same passion as myself for making new/never done before parts.
Hopefully you guys will like what we come up with, but no hints as of yet!

Anyway,Calgary nice get together, come next year I may be there in the passenger seat of that Yellooooow rocket:biggrin: !!

As far as the "Crazy MO'FO club"
Dave I think you are right there with me !!!

Dave has a lifetime membership, he's President, CEO and MASCOT!

We are just in the process of developing more parts.

I HOPE you'll allow the NSX Club of Canada a group buy of all your stuff before you make an exclusive deal that will see us importing it from the USA for double the customs, shipping and mark-up!!!

Remember, Canadians come first, (but thats mostly because we come more often)
