Hi all, I was hopeing most of us could get together to meet each other at least 1 time before the year is done.
My summer was scrambled around alot this year.

I have not seen much activity in Cowtown all year, I went on a big holiday this summer and the forums remained very quiet.
I put on almost 2500 miles from july to now and I was gone for 6 weeks of that time.
No 1 has even seen me(spotted) locally yet cruising around,I am suprised!

So come on people lets have a few hours together to meet and see each others rides,(Dam,RJM,Earz0, etc) looks like Edmonton is on the right track as thay had many meets this year. :)

I know a few of you would like to see the 1st Canadian Lovefab Turbo, something to see I am sure , as Turbo NSX's are very rare in this neck of the woods.
I was thinking on meeting at Chestermere Lake, weather depending and from there we can decide what we want to do, does not have to be a all day event, Just a couple hours or so.

Winters just around the corner,
so post now(today) and lets discuss a convenient time for us all, if anyone is interested ?
I have more free time now.

Thanks
Brent

Ratz, the cars away for the winter, it would have been nice to go down on a nice fall weekend.
Now i have to bring my Concorde!!! lol

Dam:cool:

I might be able to join, depending on what date and time you guys decide on. I'll check back to see what everyone decides.

While you guys are meeting you should talk about starting a local chapter of the NSX Club of Canada - we'll help!

Hi Guys, good to see a few of you can make it :)

I would prefer Sunday myself, as I wanted to go to the lake Saturday afternoon boating.
Sunday afternoon earlier is best for me, around noon or so,
although if I have to, I can go saturday also, I will just change my plans if I have to because of your schedules.
So let me know by friday night everyone so we can make this happen. ok?
also dont forget to bring your camera if u like.

Easygoing Sounds great this would be very cool, let us know when you guys want to get together (next year) and we will do our best to make it happen.
I would love to see 20 or more X's on the road. :)

Guys, I'm writing you from NSXPO (next year in North West, drivable for you ) there are a few hundred NSXs here - too cool for words!

We drove here from Buffalo in convoy of about 14 NSXs, totally cool experience - we used radios to talk from car to car (FRS = <$100 for two) The Americans have "club radios" which are Motorolla bricks, we NSX Club of Canada guys use the FRSs, which was way better since we could give the second radio to guys who didn't have (Americans)

You guys need to do two things, have a meet, don't worry about it if not everybody can make it, get 5-10 together. Then be ready to have meets over the winter to talk cars too - we'll provide you some NSX DVD Leads, (get together to watch at someone's house and drink beer and talk cars), there is some great literature, when we have meets various people bring stuff to share around and look at - everybody has something, but most people don't have a lot. etc.

Its about talking cars with others who think like you - it doesn't matter how much snow there is - we do at least one monthly event all year long and generally to to three in the "driving months"

MONDAY, would be best. I work a graveyard shift Sunday, but if you guys still say Sunday I'll try to make it. Red has a great idea about a Calgary chapter, more meetings and everything.

Hello everyone,

Whats the verdict, who votes for what day ?

monday is supposed to be cloudy and maybe rain, sat 12 and mainly sunny sunday 16 mostly sunny for the forcast, monday many have thanksgiving, I have it sunday evening at brothers house 5pm, so sunday noon till 4 pm I am free or we can make it saturday if its convenient or all, I am open to both days, just want to know so we can make a time here tonight?

I believe Chestermere is the meeting place, probably at the Chestermere landing pub there should be enough room to meet in the parking lot or just down the street in the parking lot, or we can go to the boat launch area, but figure the pub lot is best?
at what time?

post tonight and we will figure this out,
I have to go out tonight to a friends but will check in and see what we have come up with, sorry you guys from up north cannot make it eagle95,ffffanman,luckguy maybe next time?

Hopefully we will get a few pics to post, :)

well talk to u guys later and hope a decision is made tonight, sat or sun?

Brent

Ok just got home 2am, no more replies,?
so I call it sunday since sat is short notice now, specially for Sinisfun to have some time if he can make it to join us.
seeya guys sunday chestermere landing say 12:00 to 12:30 pm oct 7.
hope its all goood for u, I have to go by 4pm as RJM and I both seem to have our suppers on this day.
Sunday Chestermere Landing Pub the 1 across from the Esso gas station, on the lake.

Red, I like the idea and thank for inviting us to a special group I am sure, its not that I am not interested but I am a fairly busy person and do not think I could make all the meets and maybe I would dissapoint the group, so this is why I have not talked to u guys about a chapter, all sounds cool but I travel alot and am not sure I could be reliable for gatherings.
I would like to see each other and talk cars in the winter, help each other out, hang out and all, but to get each other together we would have to include Edmonton , Vancouver and Calgary, just to match the population u guys have in Ont,
tell us more, I think many of us are interested but feel the same way.? we can not commit because of our schedules.

See everyone sunday,
PM me if you feel like calling cell or anything.
Unless its snowing or raining I will be there after 12pm

Brent

The Alberta Club should not rely on one person - it works best when its two or three key guys (we call ourselves the Executive) and we work together. I have never gone to a show and shine, (I'm usually at the track) but it doesn't stop me from showing up at a dinner - accept the fact that not everybody can (or wants) to do the same thing.

All you need to do is choose a good meeting place (we use the Yacht Club in the summer because they will rope off parking for us and the Nachos a Cheese (without cheese) are soooooo good  ) do it the second Thursday of each summer month and those who show show and those who can't make it don't - everyone knows it happening and I post about it a week or two in advance anyways. Not everyone comes (we get 8-12 people reliably) but there is a core group and people actually apologize for missing it! (But that may be because we're Canadian)

We figure you have at least 15-20 cars out in Alberta - and if we get a Dealer on board in each city and get them to give us names of who they're servicing you'll find a few more. From our experience not all owners on on Prime, and some lurk but don't post. NSXPO has 45 cars here that DON'T use Prime although they registered and drove to Ohio from all over.

Don't think about Vancouver - its too far to drive to dinner, etc. they have 30+ cars there, they will have their own thing soon.

We were pleased to discover how many cars there were - more than we thought when we started!

tell us more, I think many of us are interested but feel the same way.? we can not commit because of our schedules.

Talk about it at your meet - Its not like you're getting married, you are agreeing to get together at a certain time each month (if you can make it), get discounts on parts and service, be covered by insurance while you do events, and build a group of friends with similar interests. We'll help you with all the organization work - we just need about two or three guys to say they'll be our "guys on the ground" we're ready to do the rest from here.

Glad to see you all are getting togther. I would love to join up, but I will not be back in town until the 8th. Enjoy!

I'll try to make it and I have the business card of a guy I met in Eau Claire with an NSX. My car is not looking it's best though. I had some guy back into me in my underground parkade at work. I was sitting in the car waiting for the ramp out of the parkade to clear when I saw a set of back up lights coming towards me. I hit the horn....too late. He hit the passenger side door. I almost had a cornary. It made me sick. I spent the better part of 5 years looking for a really clean supercharged NSX and 6 months after I get it this happens. I got one quote so far - about $8000 - and have to get a couple more. Who would you guys recommend in Calgary to fix an NSX?

Sorry to hear, that sucks! At least you were there so he didn't drive away (has happened to several people I know lately:mad: )

Glad to see you have a 951 too - great taste in cars!

We have been at NSXPO this loooooong weekend (I started on Wed) and Joe, owner of the Famous Vince's Autobody did a presentation.

He says: Look for someone who has Car-o-liner (if I have the name right) equipment and also has the diplomas of the guys in the shop who have actually passed the course up on the walls (should be lots, not just one guy) passing these and the other courses (like paint courses, etc.) demonstrates a commitment ot learning how to do the job right and a passion for the work vs. a focus on just making money since anyone can buy the stuff and not take the course because they are too busy on the "making money" side vs. the "truly caring" side.

Impressive presentation from a brilliant guy.

Sadly, he says doors not the easiest to fix, all one piece, can't just replace the skin.:frown:

Thanks for the advice. Getting a new door is a must - even at $3800 that was quoted for one. On another note, my 89 951 has 300 rwhp (1 bar) with a Vitesse Stage III turbo. What turbo is on your race car? Just out of curiosity.

I also have a 968 Turbo - the yellow Kelly Moss Racing one from Excellence a few years back. Then there are the RX7's. I love the rotary engine for it's smoothness, ease of power and the fact it gives the car some character. On top of that they are dead sexy to look at. My friends gave me a hard time saying that with the RX7's and 951's I must like "problem child" cars. I guess buying an NSX should shut them up. :)

For a track car I am building a wide body 914 and putting a normally aspirated 3 rotor into it. Here is the build thread:
