I was kinda scared at first of buying another BMW, after hearing all these problems from people like you. But after reading all the boards about different BMWs, I found out that the E39 M5's had less problems and the owners were kinda like NSX owners who really keep their M5's in top condition. I purchased this from my friend's husband who rarely drove it and it only had 47k miles after 10 years. He had all the service records of the car and they were done at the dealer. He even did the 60k mile service at 45k and everything checked out. He even changed out all the MAF and oxygen sensors even though only one was broken, and they weren't cheap at $300 to $400 each and this car has 6 of them. Hopefully mine behaves and keeps on running strong.
