Has anyone tried Amsoil's bypass filter
http://www.amsoil.com/products/bf.html
I have used one on other vehicles with good results. Keeps oil really clean. I would mount in the spare tire area. I know it would be extra weight, but with a longevity increase I would not mind. I have 114k miles and plan on driving as long as it will go. My friend has 302K on his NSX, and I can just imagine what super clean oil would do. I know over and over every one says OEM filter, but has any one used this unit or another brand of oil filter relocation?

Be aware of the significant impact on your oil pressure... longer lines equals lower pressure. This is not a good idea without an oil pump upgrade (BIG $)

I don't see an issue with installing a remote filter as it relates to loss of oil pressure but I also don't see an issue with the oem setup. One reason I would install a remote filter is to make oil changes easier/cleaner. I already use a vacuum pump to siphon the oil out. The issue about extending the engine's life, I would just change the oil and filter more often. I used to change the oil twice in a 5000 mile interval with regular dino and the filter every 5000 miles. I've switched to changing the oil and filter once every 5000 miles with a synthetic oil.
