I am in the market to buy a digital camcorder. The new JVC everio line that record direct to an internal hard drive have my eye right now... either the GZ-mg50 or GZ-mg70.

In doing some price research on Bizrate and similar sites, there are a number of well-rated retailers that can save me a decent chunk of change over sites like Dell.com and bestbuy.com. Each of the discounters specifically state the products are brand new, etc....

I've had success with buying digital cameras from these type of places, but the dollars in play are larger on this buy. How shady are these places, even those with good bizrate grades?

Funny, I just shopped a JVC HD61Z886 HD-ILA TV(The 61 inch JVC DLP version) on BIZRATE and ordered one from Buydig.com and saved $1000 from Bestbuy and other national chains...It should be here this week!!!

Can't wait!!!

Buydig.com had an excellent customer service rating, so I went with them...Buy with a credit card just incase things go wrong though...Should be no problem if you go with a highly rated store...Good luck.

I have had nothing but great, fast, reliable service from them. I purchsed my Canon 10D there plus a lens as well as a camcorder. First order was over 2k and the second was over $700. I always use pricegrabber.com as a lowest price finder. If you search there was a thread not too long ago on the camcorder with hard drive and concerns, issues and opinions were raised in the thread.
