To Ken and other windy city locals, I'm buying a black/black 99 targa this week from a local Acura dealer in Highland Park Illinois. I'm out of state, hence the post to the board.
The sales guy, who has been pretty sharp thus far, said the previous owner of the car traded it in last week and picked up a new 2002 targa. He also said that was their third 2002 to go out the door this year, which caused my "bullshit detector" to begin emitting loud Valentine One-like warning chirps.
Does anyone know this owner or particular car? It's only got 14,500 miles and isn't modded in any way. Carfax clean.
I have no clue regarding the Highland Park Acura dealer's size, but my sales guy over there says they own a Honda dealership in addition to the Acura dealership , as well as to two other brands.
FINAL NOTE - If Ken or anyone else that lives close by to that particular dealership wants to do me the favor of taking a look at the car for paint work, feel free.
It's being sold under Acura's Certified Pre-Owned cars program, and at 14,500 miles I'd be surprised if something was wrong. But I'm wondering why anyone would take a massive $$$ loss on their 1999 NSX-T just to purchase a revised 2002 NSX-T at full sticker?
Any help is appreciated, and if you don't feel comfortable speaking here publically don't hesistate to private me at [email protected]
Best, MAKO
