Button stays with BAR-Honda: Cost $30 million

SpeedChannel reported during their Sunday F1 coverage that BAR will pay Williams $30,000,000 so Button can break his contract. Apparently this is roughly the amount that Williams wasted on F1 drivers' retainers the past few years whose contracts they held but didn't use as team drivers, for example, Button. It was implyed that Button will have to fore go some salary over the next few years to compensate BAR for the buyout. I can't find an article on this but the link below is about the Japanese fans reaction to Sato being dropped. He may get a ride with MidLand-Toyota.

Last week I read $18m to be paid by Button to Williams and Button to get
$80m for 5 years from BAR.
