I'm in the market for a new brokerage. I had been with TD Waterhouse, but they're instituting a raft of new fees on January 10, and I'm a littled pissed off about it. (Plus they've given me a number of other customer service snafus.)

Does anyone have a brokerage they're in love with?

I wouldn't say I'm in love with them but I have been very satisifed with Datek. I'm not clear from your post if you are looking for a broker you can actually speak with or if you are just looking to do your own trading.

Quick and Reilly is by far the best.

I doubt you'll find many people agreeing on what "best" means. Different people have different needs and wants.

Q&R is not "best" for me because I don't want to pay for all the extras - I just want to trade. So why pay higher comissions and fees if I don't have to?

Absolutely correct Lud. I should have put more info in my statement but I was in a hurry. I find that Quick and Reilly is the best for my needs. I am a stickler on trade execution time, and Quick and Reilly is the best at that. Any order that I put in is always completed under 10 seconds. Also if you have over (I think) 100k on deposit with them and/or Fleet bank most everything is free.
