Breaking news!!! Jet Blue aircraft in trouble!!! on LIVE TV now

a great job by the crew, that's for sure.

BUT, (and i fly a bit as a commercial passenger) it seems strange to me that the crew would allow the inflight tv's to remain on while they're going through this emergency, especially on final/landing.

There was a news report that stated the TV's were turned off about and hour prior to landing.

Hummmm. Not sure what this opinion refers to.
Sorry for the flame but such an uninformed comment is without merit and utterly baseless.
This comment refers to some incidents here in europe (latest was in Greece with 2 pilots with known heart problems at a very low cost carrier from Cyprus) where some carriers dump the pilot salaries, health examinations and of course maintainance standards. Of course I'm no inside person, therefor I'm not informed (like nearly all customers I guess) and if you've read my post you would have understood that I just expressed a positive comment about these pilots. So why are you so angry about me?

I just wanted to provide a link I found worthful but If I get comments like yours I'm out again of Prime (as I was in the last month). Bye.

The standards for European carriers vs. American carriers are two different subjects.

1-The incident involved an American domestic flag carrier. You had no
reference To any European carrier.
So, the assumption is a very big stretch.

2-Please inform yourself about the standards for Pilots here in America and
Base any reference as such. If you want to compare this incident
To a European carrier, please reference those standards.
This will clarify any misunderstandings.

3-There are thousands of air carriers worldwide with a broad range of
Pilots. I Don't mean to flame but please reread your comment and see
If you can make the connection of American vs. European carriers.

I want to acknowledge and support NSX-Racer here.

What he wrote was only complimentary to the
JetBlue pilots and to US aviation in general.
Thanks Tom, that was exactly what I wanted to express. But I wonder why they make radio commercials like this one in the U.S.?

BTW: This was part of a campaign that won the "Grand Prix" at the 2005 Radio Lions in Cannes.

Skyguy may dislike it though...

If that ad is for real (I've never heard it), I would have to say that I don't think Skyguy is the only person who may find it offensive. I think it's awful. But it seems to be a trend. If you can offend a small enough cross-section of the public it might not come back to bite you. Kind of like Gov. Arnold making teachers the villains in California and withholding a few billion of their funding dollars. Teachers are too small a group of people to fight the powers that be.

I hope pilots can have their say about that ad.

That is just wrong!!! :frown:
You don't mean that this commercial is a fake and I have given you a wrong information? Or is "wrong" due to the content of the ad (which I'd assume after reading skyguys info earlier on this thread)? Sorry for my lack of understanding...

The latter. It might be funny on SNL or something like that but not as a real commercial.
