100,331 miles on the car, 92. Today I pulled into a shopping center parking lot, and as I was cruising 5-10mph through the lot looking for a place to park my ABS brake pump came on.
Nothing unusual... then all of a sudden a loud PING sound. I pull into the spot, open the hood and the big metal ball that is on the bottom of the modulator blew open in the center of the ball, shooting brake fluid everywhere inside the hood area and all over the ground.
Needless to say my ABS doesn't work
Cost of replacement part $475 + labor.
My repair guy looked at it and just shook his head, he had never seen one do anything like this before.
