Bought new NSX, but completely tore the tires up on the way home (2,200 mile trip)

Nothing against all the advice already given in this topic, but I'm going to guess that your tires weren't even close to brand new when you started this trip.

And I'm not saying that it happened to you, but you'd be surprised how many people claim tires are "almost new" or "90 percent tread" when they aren't.

You're right, they already had 8,000 miles on them.

So the rear tires lasted 10,000 miles, on an NSX? That's excellent! You shouldn't need to do ANYTHING to your car. Other than checking how much tread is on your tires before driving 2200 miles.

Driving in a straight line, like on and interstate, is the worst thing you can do for extended tire life. The alignment is set for cornering. As Ken mentioned, 10K miles is pretty darned good for a set of rears. Ask me how i know...
