Its not even going to be close. I don't agree with Malibu at all, I think the Lakers were never in this thing, and it was never close. It went 6 games with a 40 point beating on the 6th game. I don't think most people really really know KG, nor Allen, nor Pierce. I mean does anyone know what Ray Allen has done in this league? What KG has done in his carreer?
Game 4, Lakers blow a 24 point lead. You don't think Boston could have lost that game? Game 2, Boston nearly blows a 24 point lead and the game was very close at the end. That's close. The last game was not close, that was a blowout. So to say they were never in this thing is just wrong.
Don't just credit the big 3 for the series. I think Eddie House hit bigger shots than any of the Big 3. Powe came up big and so did Posey. That was they key. You can always stop the best players if you throw the kitchen sink at them like they did to Kobe, but the other players will generally step in. I don't know why there is a Kobe vs Jordan comparison here, it simply doesn't apply. What happened to the MJ Wizards? I think Chuck Norris and Bruce Lee would have been unstoppable, too.
There were 2 really easy games the Lakers could have won which meant they would have won the championship.
Woulda, coulda, shoulda, whine whine whine... I see this over and over again. The true fans, the ones that really know their game, don't make excuses; they give credit where credit is due, and are as graceful in defeat as in victory. Some teams seem to attract a following of such knowledgeable, magnanimous fans, while others get all the "my team is great, yours sucks" yahoos, full of excuses. Heck, sometimes they're even in the same city (metro area), such as the contrast between the knowledgeable fans of the Oakland A's, and the SF Giants fans who continue to claim that Barry Bonds never took steroids (yeah, right ). I've seen that particular phenomenon here in Chicago, where last year Bears fans were amazingly graceful about their playoff run (expressing sympathy for all that the Saints fans had been through while beating them in the NFC Championship, and admiration, not excuses, for the play of Peyton and the Colts in the Super Bowl), and before that Cubs fans were incredibly whiney about the "Bartman ball" (while Bartman may have affected one play, it was the Cubs, not Bartman, who went on to blow that game and the next one - deal with it, Cubs fans).too bad the Pats BLEW IT BIG TIME.... sigh.....
Hmmmm..... I think you were wrong on every count including the coach and my "not knowing" basketball.

When there's a championship, such as an NBA Finals, Super Bowl, or World Series, everyone knows that this is the chance to prove which team is "best". One team does it, and the other team doesn't, end of story. If the losing team were truly better, they would have won, but they didn't so they're not. Spoiled, whiny fans of teams like the New England Patriots, Los Angeles Lakers, New York Yankees, Green Bay Packers, etc, need to grow up and realize that their teams win when they win because they play better, and lose when they lose because they don't play as well as their opponent. I'm always impressed by those teams whose fans know their stuff and don't make excuses; the A's, St. Louis Cardinals, and Indianapolis Colts come immediately to mind, which will come as no surprise to anyone who has been to their home games.
And I think the whole 'change your signature' bet is hilarious. Thank God I didn't make that bet.
Well the difference was that the Lakers did blow the lead, and the celtics didn't. When the celtics absolutely had to make stops they could, but LA couldn't. They just don't have that kind of defense. The difference in defense was glaring. Maybe you see those games as close, but I didn't. I felt Boston was dominant in the series. I was never nervous or doubted this outcome.
On that Wizards comparison. MJ was how old at that point? And in his prime plenty of teams threw the "kitchen sink" at him. He was often guarded by two, three, sometimes four people.
Boston dominant? No way, they got the wins and that's what counted. But they were far from being dominant. The last game, now that was dominant. Boston fans were nervous in both of those close games, if you weren't, then a normal thinking, logical fan was.
To say that he would have done any better is pure speculation and ridiculous to be honest with you. It holds about as much water as my Chuck Norris and Bruce Lee reference. It's just as easy to say that he would have done worse. How the heck do you know he would have done any better/worse with Doc's defensive strategy and against these Celtics? You simply don't... So in the end, you look more intelligent if you never make these types of statements...

I can't quite make out what it says on their shirts and hats.. maybe someone could help..
Come on Malibu, aren't you happy for any of these guys that have been in the league so long? Doc's dad died mid season this year. He cried like a baby when they asked him if he wished his dad was alive to see him win. Leon Powe was homeless. His mom died before she saw him score 22 in an NBA finals game. You gotta be happy for some of these guys.
What happened to the MJ Wizards?
I read every post fullracehonda makes now... it brings me such joy...
And I have to say he was cool in losing... took it like a man.
Allen is a bit of a whiner in my book but he played well.
Could have fooled me...It's something I don't see here in SoCal against other teams, we don't hate...
Could have fooled me...
LOL +1
I m just glad all the Kobe is better than MJ talk will have to Stop now. MJ would have never let that happen in the championship. Kobe lost the Championship Game by same amount of points MJ won a championship game 42. so what I added 3 points lol. Thats just plain embarassing, I hate the lakers and I even felt bad for them last game. I won lot of money so not too bad but it was kinda sad seeing Kobe crying in the end
