Boost leak question

If u talk about value, wils kit still a best bang for bucks( including bbsc)for average joe that want 400whp or even 450 whp, unless someone can come on here and knock on his price and his customer service is a big plus. Thats a big reason why a lot of guys in here choose to go with his kit. No he doesnt have a best kit out but still a cheapest way to get 400 whp. And for for no brand turbo in his kit, there's no sign that anything wrong with my turbo after almost 3 years and more than 18xxx miles later. I had a chance to get used 6262 precision turbo ( 4 pulls on Dyno) from my friend for 650 but I pass cause this turbo doesn't bother me why spend money to fix it. My 0.02 cents

Why must he hide the information though? I'm not saying the turbo is junk albeit oversized. Some specs, and a brand name might help him sell his kit and something I think the consumer deserves to know. Personally I wouldn't use a 6262, I'd rather get a forced performance 62mm billet wheel turbo with a Garrett ball bearing cartridge. I won't get into the cost to produce a kit like this, but even with top quality parts IE Garrett turbo and intercooler, Tial BOV and WG, T bolt clamps, 4 Ply couplers, best quality scavenge pump there would still be a large profit margin at his price point.

I get and agree with your point about spec-ing the products, but Will has decided to market his product the way he wants to, the consumer has a choice based on the info presented to purchase or not purchase the product.

If there was a person willing to build a kit with the parts you have laid out and had the same level of service before and after the sale that many have raved about here on Prime, and it was offered at a better value then that person or company could and should win market share and sell their product.

The honest truth to this issue is it is a very, very, small market, many have come and gone, some I wish would go, but untill there is another game in town you play with the toys in the box. Not everyone has the skill set to build the toy they want so they are forced to choose from what is offered. I am still amazed after playing with NSX's for almost 20 years that we have as many choices as we have. Acura only built 9000 cars over 15 years and that makes the pool of potencial customers and specialist willing to do the work to devolope a kit so small.

I respect the information you have shared, I used it in my own process of building a turbo for my car, more importantly I respect the method and tone you use to share that information. Thank You.

Sorry for the tangent SuperSonic.

I can't answer that for Wil why he chose not to, but he clearly said u can choose any brand or turbo u want with some extra cost and he can't controll on waiting time. The turbo come with the kit he pretty much always have it in stock. I would choose garrett gtx turbo but my pocket(wife) wouldn't be happy with it, plus I think bb turbo is kinda wasting money if u ask me. So I rather get 6262 for 650 and save a grand for tuning. Nsx is limited car so I see why those companies always charge little more than other cars. I just review it with my own experience and that's it. U can't always get nicer part without more money

That's my thoughts. I don't need more than what I got, don't want to build block. Hoping after I get car back it will boost like it should. If not the turbo may be done for.

How the hell u know my goal is 400 whp now? Thats 3 years ago goal for me not now. Stop guessing what people thinking. Why buy bbsc for ur car then switch to turbo?

I have never had a bbsc on any of my 7 nsx's... dont throw stones at glass houses either. I dont linger and follow your posts... I do know that you have a problem calling ebay ebay... why on earth is that so hard... will calls it proprietary... gets it from ebay... then its not ebay.

And why the hell u put k20 in nsx? Cause it makes sense to u at the time

You think I regret what I did... bro... my race car.. which costs more than you could ever imagine to build with a swap like I have accomplished.. WEIGHS 1,965LBS WET.... it is the lightest nsx ever fabricated... and my accomplishment with the car is in no way calculated with your thoughts about the build

The K20NSX IS ONE OF THE GREATEST ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF MANY IN MY LIFE... BY FAR NOT A MISTAKE... NOT A REGRET... AND IF MONEY WERE NOT AN ISSUE... WHICH THE ECONOMY WILL CORRECT... THE CAR WILL BE ON A TRACK TO ACCOMPLISH ITS GOALS

Turbo's are major componets of the drivetrain now... they are not tires... they dont just blow and you need to replace them... major damage is a risk with a turbo going out

Just wanted to point out Will does tell people who own his kit witch brand turbo it is. At least he told me and I wish I could remember the damn name. But I did check out there web sight at the time. It is not a turbo from ebay. I think once you figure out your boost issue you will really like the way your car runs. Not to fast down low but the car moves. Also from what I remember I think one of Cody's first kits came with a t67. Geez all this talk about boost is getting me giddy I cant wait to get my car back from SOS and start driving it again.

The only reason Bisi said his turbo was in the event my turbo was failing and needed a new one. Basically a boost problem can be many issues. I think I fixed all the coupler leaks, swapped bov, pressure tested ic, swapped mbc on/off. On it was only at 6-7, off 2. Basically I'm getting close to the point it may be the turbo, that's why he suggested. In fact, I showed him my sump pump set up and he got a pump himself for their show turbo Porsche. He never said turbo sucks, just he can get me a good deal on custom one. I don't know why Will is afraid to say the turbo cheap? My wheels are bbs knock offs, but as cheap as they are they look and feel good. Same with everyone's "type R" wings. Not real but gets the job don.

So with all the leaks fixed, you put the controller on and it was 6PSI but did you try turning it up?

If it does turn out to be the turbo which doesn't seem likely here make sure to find out the cause of the failure. It could be oil related, possibly the scavenge pump not working.

Wonder r u running any catch can right now? That's kinda help with scavenge pump too, i delete pcv valve and run 2 hoses from both valve cover to catch can

No I have not put the manual boost controller back on the car. Since I fixed it the night before I dropped it off at the body shop, I did not want to put it back on only to have it sit there.... and because if someone to drive it it was only a 2 to 3 PSI versus 6 to 7 psi. So like I said, hopefully the leak I found below the intercooler coupler was in fact the reason it is not holding boost. I am not sure how much of a leak you would have to get though to not hold the boost level. hopefully the car should be done by Friday with the new bumper painted and he Emblem taken off. Before I leave the body shop I will just installed the manual boost controller to test on the drive home. I was even thinking about having auto wave do a smoke test in the event the boost level was still not high enough, since they are literally a quarter mile down the street from where the car is currently at.

As for the main point, I may just take off the manual boost controller and add the small Bluespring, which I think is rated at 7.2 pounds. I was going to add the yellow but that is 8.4 pounds, not as high as the 9.2 pounds I originally was at, but I don't want to boost above that causing the car to be around 10 or 11.
