Birth of a Sports Car

Speed TV has a 3 part series for the BMW 6 series this month called 'Birth of A Sports Car.'. It gives you greater appreciation to what goes into the production and design of a car. It is a must see. I don't think this is a repeat. Check it out.

I wouldn't really regard the 6 series as a sports car...

I have driven it and I think with it's weight and size it is more like a 2 door luxury sedan.

I think the upcoming M6 would be the exception.

Not for me... Yes the new V10 M6 will fix the power to weight ratio but won't fix the size and weight of the car. It will be a really nice and quick Grand Tourer but not really a light and nimble "Sports Car" that is chuckable around a twisty mountain road or racetrack IMO.

I saw it the other night, as a designer for Ford, it was nice to see that even BMW goes through the same struggles we do in the design process. I started watching it a bit late, but was definetly a good assessment of what the job is like everyday from what I saw.

The point here is not to judge if the 6 series is a sports car or not. The series shows how much work goes into the making of a car,

I realise that... I was pointing out that the series has the wrong title!... In My Opinion (IMO)!
