Has anyone seen the current issue of Road & Track. They did a pretty thorough test of current sports cars including the Corvette, Viper, Porsche 911 and Boxster S, Lotus Elise, Mercedes something, BMW little convertible, 300Z, and S2000. I thought this would have been a perfect opportunity to show how good the NSX still is compared to the best the world has to offer in "real world" cars. But no, Road & Track selected the S2000 to represent Honda. They said that they considered the NSX, but since next year it was either going to end production, or would be replaced, they selected the S2000 to represent Honda. I was pretty disappointed.

I could only wonder where it would have placed in the rankings. I thought it was interesting that even with all that brute power of the Viper, the S2000 still managed to "beat" it. No dummie not in 0-60 or quarter mile  , but in ranking

I wish they included the NSX in the comparison as well. It would have been fun to read about the NSX. Unfortunately, I would bet it would have ranked below the S2000 in that comparo. It's $90k price would more than likely evaporate any lead it would have had in the performance and subjective categories. There is a $60k difference in price between the NSX and the S2000, which cannot be overcome in a price dependent comparison. Unfortunately, Road and Track gives too much weighting on price. If price were not a factor, the Corvette would have placed third versus first, where it truly belongs. The Carrera S is clearly the better overall sports car than the Corvette in my opinion.
