Best 1/4 Mile run

Abslolutely agree! They run the full racing suspension. but to be honest, the car sticks almost TOO much. I have adjustable shocks and loosen up the rear, and tighten up the fronts. I also remove the front sway bar. (All this helps too much. Especially with the mickey thompson et Streets. ) They're basically just 10.5" Drag slicks with some slits cut in them for rain driving. (Still WAYYY too slippery) I'm VERy afraid I'm going to bust the axles. So I always launch non nitrous and let the clutch slip a tiny bit then when it catches, I hit the nitrous.
Actually, power 6 down here isn't that bad. My only competition is Ari, and I expect him to win or break. I haven't raced legally in a while. I've missed all the races since February. The other Sanctioning body class is called "Street Tire." I also have a good chance there. Houston has MANY import cars that are faster than mine. They just don't enter the races? I'm not sure why.

You said earlier your "1/4 mile calculator" said that mid 10's weren't possible. Copy this page on your url. http://www.mustangworks.com/cgi-bin/analyzer.cgi

Enter 500 hp (at the wheels) then enter vehicle weight of 2650. Check out the time (Faster than mine) but more importantly check out the MPH. Came out EXACT! pretty interesting.

I said you would turn in the mid 10's. However, if I calculate 560HP and 510 lb.ft. at the crank, 2650 lbs., sticky tires and power shifts, I get 10.2 @ 140 MPH!

Yeah, there are many calculators out there. The times and numbers are well within beleivable parameters. Doesn't matter. I'll post the slip soon (I've been working till 8pm every night and haven't much time to do anything else- Mortgages and refi's have been overwhelming)
As far as video... I will get it on a web site soon. Probably imports of houston or something. How soon? Your guess is as good as mine... I still have to get my friend to do the video...and pick a day (Sunday's) that the times actually show up on the big board. Friday night's test and tune doesn't show times on the board so people can keep them secret. (@HRP)
I just called the body shop a couple of hours ago. The car hasn't even been put up on a machine yet!!! (Frame machine) They've had it for a week, and I haven't had it for 3 months. I'm pretty frustrated. They said they MIGHT have a spot tomorrow. Whatever. when it's out (God willing) I'll video it. I'm sure I'll have time to put my time slip up this weekend. Anywhere (Certain web page) I should put it? Like I said, I'm not that computer talented yet.

Does anyone know what I should expect out of a completely stock '92 on street tires (Yokohama AVS-Intermediates) Oh Yeah, it's red too...the fastest color. Anyway, I've only taken it to the strip once, but my best was a 13.830 @ 101.34 mph. I feel like I've got a good launch-- 2.01-2.08 for 60 ft, but I'm probably losing time shifting.
Someday, I'll make it fast...but for now I'm lucky to keep a steady supply of tires on it.

Any updates to this OLD thread?

Anyone have timeslips from Gerry Johnson's turbo car ?? David Bernert?? GJ's car is said to run "low 11s all day" in this thread --> http://www.nsxprime.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=17699

Any #s from the high-boost BBSC folks ??

I have some slips from last year, I will post one, it is a mid 11 second pass at 123.94 mph on street tires(275/30/19 bridgestone SO3's) on this pass I had to lift off the gas in 3rd and 4th momentarily to keep the car from going into the other lane from frame flex, the NSX was not made to handle the power that it is getting from the turbo or other power adders, I am very surprised that some people that have posted times are not seeing the same problems. I tried the ET drag slicks on the car and couldn't even complete a pass because the car was impossible to keep straight after going into 3rd gear.
It is hard to go to the drags and spend alnight to make one pass and get kicked out, but we will be going again in several weeks, the car has ran 126.8 mph in the mid 11,s if I can dig that one up I will post it too.

Re: (back in time) Best 1/4 Mile run - Kid, everyone, look at this thread

Kid et al,

I pulled this thread from "back in the day." For some of you old schooll'ers, remember this one??!! These are the numbers from different setups; I'm definite that the times are better now from some. I wish I knew how to connect this thread to the current one.... Maybe someone can help.
