I used 1 coat of Z5 and two coats of Z2 with ZFX added. I purposely took these pics when it started to get dark to show the shine from reflective light. I'll get better daytime pics tomorrow if I have the time. I know these aren't the greatest pics but for now......

Excuse my messy garage, doing some major renovation to my house and I temporarily moved stuff into my garage.

Also, my latest "mod" just added today. Erick's CF shift knob. Driving the car feels night & day different from the small Skunk2, S2000 style knob I had previously. Those smaller knobs feel "whimpy" now.

Hey Paul, nice shots! Car looks great! I love Zaino on my Berlina Black too becuase it seems to last forever. However, my biggest complaint is that it's too reflective. It makes the car look glassy; all reflection, no color. Check out this awesome shot Randy took of my recently 3 layered Zaino'd car. Compared to the other Berlina Black my car looked too reflective. All I see is sky, while I can actually see the color of the car in the background. I prefer of the deeper Zymol color better, but Zaino is just so easy to apply, lasts forever, and smells and tastes great! I probably would have switched if it wasn't for the delicious cherry flavor!

p.s. I Zanio'd the wheels too, you like? ... LOL!

I saved that pic the other day when someone else posted those pics from the Vegas/Socal gtg :)

I know what you mean about the reflection. You want it to look more black....kinda like if you took the nozzle off the hose and let the water "sheet" on the paint. Mmmmm...the super wet, black look. I actually like the reflective properties of the Zaino products however, I'm always open to try new and different products on my car. When you decide on a new product that brings out the color more, post up some pics so I can see the difference. ...and the wheels, yes..they look very good on black NSX's. How's the search for the widebody wheels coming? ;)

Well, I don't think I'll stray from Zaino simply becuase of how long it lasts and how easy it is to apply. In fact, your post inspired me. Guess what I'm doing this weekend?

Easy to apply???

Last time I used Zanio it took about 10 hours to do.

I don't have 10 hours to give in my life any more. So I guess Zanio is out?

You have to try Zaino CS. All you do is put it on! It dries by itself.

What wax doesn't dry by itself?

You have to:

wash car with dish soap: 35min
clay bar car : 2 hours
wash car: 35 min
then 5-6 coats of zanio, it takes me about 2 hours to do one coat of wax, so thats 12 hours.

Total 15 hours.....

Let me clarify. When you put on the CS, you dont need to wipe it off.:)

But you still have to put on the 5-6 base coats of Z1, Z2 or Z5 right? (I can't remember the numbers...this was back in 2002 last time I used Zanio)

Nope. I just had a base coat of the z2 put on a few months ago and all I do now is just layer the CS on top of it. Doesn't get any easier than this. Btw, Zaino Z2 w/zfx takes less than 30 min to put on and wipe off. No need to wait for it to cure. The zfx makes it cure faster.

My car was already washed and clay bar'd prior to me recieving the Zaino in the mail. It was just sittin in the garage under a cover awaiting it. Took me a few hours (max) to apply the Z5 and 2 coats of Z2. I'll add a coat here and there in the future after I wash it for added depth. Car looks great.

I think what Bryan (VegasNSX) meant was that it's easy to apply and remove.

Which Meguiars stuff are you guys using? I WAS using Meguiars on my cars before using Zaino.

Vehicle was prepped with meguiars blue clay. #83 with an 8006 pad via PC. #80 with a 9006 pad via pc. One application of #26 wax via pc, one by hand.

Getting a clear, 99% swirl free finish is all in the polishing work. Meguiars makes a good consistent products that have a lot of flexibility to allow one to adapt products and procedures for different finishes. I exclusively use meguiars polishes and pads. Depending on the car and how it is going to be used I will employ different waxes. P21s, Meguiars, Zaino, Pinnacle, Zymol, Klasse......All good products.

A lot of Meguiars stuff. 2nd shot is a reflection off the door.

Now that's a good looking Berlina Black NSX:biggrin:

Come to think of it, that's one heck of a nice little house too:biggrin:

Looks great. Any full pics of the car to showoff that shine?
I love the look of shiny, black cars.
