Been thinking about getting a new steering wheel.

How about a rare Mugen FG 360...

I just ordered a hub/quick release/lock set from Erick and my main reason was for theft prevention. I agree that the NSX steering wheel is extremely outdated and really kills the interior of a true sports car. I suggest anyone looking to change the look of the interior as well as theft protection, talk to Erick, he is extremely helpful! I can't wait till my set comes in!

you guys that are thinking about putting a civic wheel on an NSX...
now thats GHETTO WIGGETY WACK YO!

jk, it does look nice. but too bad IT WONT FIT.

spline count and size is different so that wont work
and also the length of the steering wheel wont work because its too short.

same goes for trying to put an s2k wheel on an nsx.
spline count, spline diameter, an depth/length of the wheel.

im sure you can get a guy to weld a longer up hub spline to the wheel and have another leather guy wrap up the extension.
but im just going to sit back and see who will be the front runner and actually commits this task and follow up and complete it.

so i want to see less talk and more action.

something you might want to think about.
personally, me and many other guys that did the steering wheel mod went with the quick release and lock. not for cosmetics, but for theft deterent rather.

there's already several reported cases here on prime with stolen NSX's.
it could happen to you too!
and its not about if, its when it happens, and its going to suck.
insurance or not, the headache of going through it just purely a pain in the ass.

i have never used my air bags in any of my cars, ever.
when you plan to use it, just put it back.

Geez, that S2000 steering wheel looks just like a Momo I had in a Porsche a few years ago and I loved it. Very nice; shame it won't swap into the NSX.

Either one of these would be a damn sight better than the one in my '91.

It won't. Why not???????

Concerning the loss of the airbag, I had a head on in my '91 NSX with the airbag. It did deploy, however, because I was buckled in, the deployment was a non-issue. It popped and was never closer than a foot from my face. Being a sports car, we are sitting a good bit back from the wheel. I wonder if anyone who was properly buckled in has been touched by the airbag in an accident. By the way, my current NSX was set up by Evo575 with a great set up, do touch bases with him. Lastly, I used the 330mm and that is, for me, just the right size. I fear you would find the 300 just too small...

I wonder the same. When I crashed my S2000 last year, the airbag brushed just the very tip of my nose. I'm 5'10 with less than 70" reach. I'm sure very small drivers or ones who sit awfully close to the wheel would benefit more.

While proper seating position may prevent most drivers from getting that punch in the face, I would imagine at highers speeds an airbag would lessen possible neck trauma, albeit to a small extent only.

also, what you can't see in those pics.... near the map lights on the roof there is a red mood light that shines on the center console, lighting up the stick and stuff..... it's nice and dim, but looks sweeet. i guess they're doing it to a few vehicles now. i like.

They have it on the E46 M3 as well, it's 2 orange led's that shine down on the stick shift area

I just noticed my buddy's C5 Vette has this. I put my hand near the stereo while we were driving at night and noticed my hand was lit up. Otherwise, I wouldn't have even known the light was there.
