bbsc 8psi low comp engine finished

"shut my pie hole" I just spoke my opinion about your weak tune and you get all pissy. I'm glad you where able to pull more power with the same amount of boost. Maybe later in the future you can step up and push it a bit more

piehole for me is as common place usage as a fatty in mcdonald's saying "supersize." It's unrelated to me pissing on myself. My responses when irritated are far more scathing.

as for stepping it up.. my wallet is crying "mercy! mercy! Please for the love of god..."

I don't know what you mean by bbsc pulley or stock pulley.. isn't the "stock" bbsc pulley the 6psi one? I had my 7.2 psi 4.2inch pulley machined down to 3.77" giving me 8.5 psi (8.66 with methanol).

update on the oil leak.. oil drain plug is seeping, even though it's tight. And all of my oil pan bolts are loose. I tightened them moderately with a small 10mm wrench. I hope that does it.

update on the update...

After noting all my oil pan bolts were somewhat loose, and the oil drain plug was seeping, I tightened all of them, then shot Basch a text letting him know they were loose. He said "tends to happen over time, worse with boost. DO NOT TIGHTEN. BRING CAR IN."

oops.

In case you're wondering if he's just drumming up business... my leak quadrupled... :frown:

Had the same issue with my bbsc..My oil drain was at a VERY slow drip..Tightened it and it went away..My oil pan screws were recently redone and only one seems to seep...Never goes to the ground or anything before it dries though..Very very moderate..

The 3.77 is great info..I will try and have my 5-6 psi pully machined to this level after the AEM..

Be interesting to compare notes..

Also had a severe leak coming from were the bbsc oil line attaches to the oil pan..Took down the oil pan and redid it..Problem 99% solved as there is still a very very moderate leak coming from the oil line connection...Again so moderate that it dosent drip to the ground or anything...

Good luck and GREAT NUMBERS..Man that thing would take out a 2003-2006 SRT10 and give a C6Z06 a good run NOW!!!!!! Coupled with the superior handling of the nsx and you have one killer machine..

Any pics?

it was actually not where the bbsc oil line is. it was/is from two sources.. where the oil pan bolts to the bottom of the engine, and the oem oil drain plug. the majority is from the oil drain plug. I'm hoping at my next oil change a new crush washer fixes that. it drops about 6 drops a day on the ground, vs. the 1-2 from before i gave it the 1/4 turn twist. It's slow enough i plan on just waiting till my next oil change (3000 miles).

Well your lucky man...

My car currently has a leak coming from the trannie area..It was a very minor leak at a drop per hour or so..It has gotten worse..Although I wont know the extent till Wednesday when I go under the car...

As well I have a leak coming from the area just above my exhaust.....

It's very frustrating having such a beautiful car that is constantly smoking...

Very hard to want to take the power any further till I resolve this issue

How did you go about getting the right belt after maching the pulley? Anyone know how small to go for 10psi and a part number for a belt that works with that.

I can read off the part number of the gatorback belt I'm using. It's pretty easy to get the belt size.. all you typically do is take your existing belt, and go to napa or wherever, with the belt #, and tell the guy you want the next 3 increments smaller for a total of 3 belts.. then just try them individually till you find the one that is the closest fit. At least, that's how i do it.

my pulley was 4.2 at 7 psi. 3.77 at 8.5 psi 9.5 psi would probably be 3.6.

when you measure the pulley ,do you measure the inches from the bigger side of the pulley or the smaller side?when i look at the pulley one side measures bigger than the other!
thanks!

i got my bbsc kit used i was promised 3 pulleys 6-9-13 psi

the one intsalled on the blower measures on both sides 4.0 inches

and the other two ar identical the bigger outer side measures 2.75inches and the inner a little bit smaller! how much boost are these pulleys for!
it looks like like i have an extra small pulley!

This diagram will probably help you guys:

thanks chris if that is the case my small pulley measures 2. 3/8inches ,that is for how much boost on my bssc?thanks

wow that 2 3/8 inch pulley is pretty small. I'm guessing 15psi or so.

my 4.2 inch pulley made 7 psi with an aftercooler. my 3.77 inch pulley makes 8.5 psi with the aftercooler.

that really small pulley might be for tensioning? I don't know. does it look like a bbsc pulley, or an OEM original Honda pulley?

If it was me, I'd start with the largest pulley. that may get you all the power you need. if it doesn't just buy a few belts so you don't have to make multiple trips to the store, and put the next smaller pulley on. and so forth.

maybe if you PM Armando, he can tell you his pulley sizes. he was pushing 15 psi with 550 RWHP on a bbsc.

Ok NSX xperts, with all this talk of Basch Boost, CAN ANYONE HERE EMAIL ME THE DIRECTIONS TO INSTALL THE BBSC!!!! I've had my NSX in the shop for over a week now and the owner of the shop can not get the direction to install the BBSC. Please email or call me at 301-717-6416. I know V8killer is trying to help out also (Thanks Wayne). Maybe anybody in Maryland can help out and point me to the right shop and have it install because this shop i have my car in right now does not specialize in Imports. You Phoenix guys are lucky with all the NSX shops around you. For me in Maryland, hmmmm...where do i go? I've done everything to the outside on my 02 type R conversion and now want to wake up the engine alittle

Well, I know there's been at least one thread on this lately, because in one of them the OP is told to contact me. I've got the PDF file of install instructions for 91-94, which I'd be happy to email you... except you didn't post your email address.

If it's a privacy thing, send me your address in a PM, and I'll get you the file.

I have a BBSC with water to air intercooler. I put a 10LB pulley on it. I makes 8 PSI with the cooler. Shane tuned mine and it made 392 RWHP. I have run at that hp for 10,000 miles.
It started popping code 0330. It indicates a bad knock sensor. So it will be back to work on it.
Do you know what the life of a knock sensor is?

I am thinking to pull the BBSC and go to a Turbo. I am looking for 500RWHP

Congratulations on getting it back together. 3X down. I thought rebuilding my engine 1 time was a big deal.

peiserg... is there any chance you could stop by the shop anytime soon????

Ross - 480-363-9431

I'll toss you some stuff for your time...

George, I am working with TAE who bought Wayne’s BBSC. We need a map as a starting point so he doesn't have to pay the $700 for tuning we can just start with yours and have a $250 tuning bill. Please E-Mail me with contact info if you would. [email protected]. I am glad you got your car done.
Wes

whens the best time of day? You guys are pretty far out of my normal way and I'd hate to waste a trip.

The evening any day during the week would be ideal... but as long as I have an hour or so's notice... I can be here... just let me know
