Anybody know how much the Sledgehammer Vette went for?
That GT40 replica was a bust also. Those aren't bringing in much $$ anymore.
That pearl white P-car is fabulous. Was it a Gembella?

All four Callaways were bought by the same person for almost $700k total. Yes, the P-car was a Gemballa but the rear wing was hideous in person. GT40 replicas were getting $70-$90k. One was owned by 1998 Playboy playmate of the year and part of the deal was that she would take a ride in it with the new owner.

I overheard someone at the auction saying that the damage to the white Countach was caused by one of the detailers at the auction. Ouch.

I wonder if it was European Detail Specialists? I saw them there Saturday, but I've heard nothing but good things about them until now.

No, it wasn't a Ferrari GTO. It was a Ferrari but had its top chopped off into a custom convertible. Someone ruined a classic.

There is a kit available that turns a 308 into a 288GTO with a convertible look. You can also do it as a coupe. Ther was one on sale with the 288GTO panels and a Turboed Ferrari motor before.
Like SCS2k said, if someone truly hacked the top off of a 288gto they are absolutely nuts. Or extremely rich.
One of my top 5 favorite cars.
