that was the only and only type r in the uk.

there was a thread here indicating that that was once a press car in the uk. Also another thread indicating that the car had been stolen and i guess recovered. Very interesting and would like to know the full stories on the car.

That car needs to stay either in the UK or Japan or wherever else there is rhd on the roads required. We've had long discussions about getting approved to have a car like that brought in. I'd be careful - but then - who's got the 190K anyway.

If they had just made some LHDs then you'd have something - matter of fact - why the hell didn't they? Why is it that us LHD guys are left out?

I have a buddy in Dallas that knows a guy in Japan that brought an NSX-R to England several years ago. Very wealthy individual. The shipping arrangement included a stop in TX. The owner lives in Dallas and London w/ most of the time being spent in London. During it's undetermined time in the US, the owner brought it out to Motorsports Ranch and my buddy got to drive it around the track. Said the car had a very stiff clutch.

All of this is third party and I can neither confirm or deny it's veracity as I wasn't there. However, I have no reason to believe that he wouldn't tell me the truth. So I wonder if this specific example isn't the press car, if this is the one my buddy got to drive.

I'll ask him again if he remembers any specifics.

The '02+ NSX-R listed in the Dupont Registry listing is likely the U.K. press car as it has the "NSXRR" tags & a pic w/ the OEM/stock front-lip being color-matched, just like fuzilov's (from www.nsxcb.co.uk).

{this is assuming the pics posted in the ad are genuine, and not recycled}

Here is fuzilov's late-model NSX-R alongside his 997 911 GT3, for the EVO magazine best'ever mid-engine sportscar comparo' issue: http://www.nsxcb.co.uk/testvb/showthread.php?t=2061

When I was researching to purchase my 05, I took a trip to Japan to visit some of those NSX exclusive shops. One of the NSX dealer in Japan had a NA1 Type-R with 30,000 km for 1.5 million yen. So 190k looks like a fair deal to me. However, the Japanese NSX market is really really really crazy. If you look here: http://www.carsensor.net/catalog/honda/nsx/. You'll find out that the used NA2 NSXs are priced higher than they were brand new.

That is crazy, @ that page they have 17 = 3.0's and, 3 = 3.2's for sale ... maybe that's why they inflate their prices ...

This made me laugh.

Guess that didn't come out exactly right did it Hijacker. Well of course everyone knows what I mean - as in "why is it the Japanese didn't develop the NSX-R for the American and LHD market? Sorry, I know what you were thinking - glad I can provide a little comic relief....

This is by far the most expensive NA1 NSX-R I've ever seen on carsensor, that's NA2 NSX-R type money. Most NA1 Rs go between 75K-100K, that's about 25-30% more than 4-5 years ago! Great investment in Japan.

even if that Real NSX-R somehow got to America,
it would then change hands every month. we love
to pass the NSX around like its a used wash cloth.
there are NSX's out there with 30+ previous owners
yikes not for me.

and why does our Government not allow
RHD cars here? I mean the US post Office
has their whole fleet RHD. why cant we
have a car RHD.

I see cars that are RHD every once in awhile.

but seriously if the driver is going to be a
70 year old women then I say NO RHD in the USA.

Is that 190K in British pounds? That's $296k US dollars!

Ok so I could go to Japan - see the country and have a vacation AND test drive a real R......that's the only way I'll ever get to drive one. Not a bad idea - I'll remember that if I ever go.
