Why no one signs Anthony Davidson for race driver position is beyond me.

He's been consistently quick as Honda's Friday third driver. Before they signed Rubens, I was hoping they would have given Ant a shot at a drive. It's a pity his only time in a race situation was last year in Malaysia when Sato fell ill, but both Honda's blew up within the 2nd lap! We never got a chance to see how he would have fared in a full race.

I was watching it not to long ago and was thinking it sucks for Barrichello who was placed 17th due to being stuck behind Ide aka "oh no!":frown:

but you gotta love the comentators! freaking hilarious:biggrin:

yup, for those who missed it, above picture happened right before the last corner of checker flag. can't even cross the finish line. :frown:

Button still has a (top) ride?

While Button still has a ride?

What was his excuse for getting passed by Alonso after ohh three corners? It must have been his tires again, or maybe the gearbox. Yea, yea that's it, the gearbox.

He sure has taken his time at the Michael Andretti school of excuses to heart. How long is Honda going to waste a good car before they understand that Button is just a sub par driver? Hell,I would rather see Villeneuve back in the Honda. He has some balls to him.

I'll listen to the flames too friends.

I don't even want to start with Barichello now. He has been a wonder as well.

i actually thought it was great, especially with that engine blowing right in front of me. After Schu, and Montoya having spectacular endings, there as well. What a great race.

Shame Kimi had a problem with another flat spotted tyre.

I just don't think he has a fast enough car to compete with Alonso. Not even Kimi was able to catch Alonso in Australia.
Was button not able to cross the finish line or did he not want to so he can get a fresh engine for the next race? If he was able to finish, was it wise to lose the 3 possible points.

I'm a bit confused regarding the decision not to cross the finish line as well. I understand the 10 position penalty for swapping an engine, but many of the better teams have demonstated an ability to climb from the back of the pack into the points throughout the course of a race. Giancarlo came from last (rolling off pitlane) to 5th in Melbourne, Massa from 21st to 5th in Malasyia, and Kimi from 22nd to 3rd in Bahrain. So was it smart to throw away 3 points for 10 grid positions? Maybe I'm missing something.
I agree that Renault is outclassing everyone at this point. It's almost boring. Button might need a kick in the ass to get him motivated (like Renault gave Fisichella over the headset), but atleast he kept the car on the track. A lot of guys didn't. It was almost points by default. Still, put Button in a Renault, and I still think Alonso runs wild.

I think you answered the question yourself with your first statement. Button started on pole, and lost five positions in how many laps, and then would have finished just in the points had he actually finished. Pretty sad IMHO.

Re: Ka-Blamo

Seems to be the catch phrase with the announcers so far this season. They don't go quietly do they?

Here comes the Button hater.

DUMP his back marker ass!

He will NEVER be a champion. Hell, he will probably never win a race either. NEVER! Get rid of him now. In a Renault, a Merc, Ford, or even a Honda, he will always be a has been.

See ya Button! Bring back Jacques, or give his seat to Wheldon.

Button is driving just like how he drove last year. Great on qualifying day, mediocre on the race day. Kimi is totally the opposite way.

I'm hooked!

This was embarrasing for me...

I was beeing amazed by Hondas power and technology because of my NSX... And I wanted to support the Honda F1 team.

This race was the first F1 race I've ever seen (I mean from start and followed it till the end).

A friend was picking on me because Button always were among the best but he never won the race.

Anyway, I was bragging to my 4 other friends who I watched the race with about the superiour quality of my NSX and that Honda had powerful motoring-technology and so on.

So, at the very end when Button's engine caught fire, they all just pointed at me and started laughing hehe

But... I AM HOOKED!!!!!!

I've always heard from people how boring the F1 now days is compared to the time Ayrton Senna and before him. I just don't know what people are complaining about. I mean the Australian race was so much fun!! We watched it on 100" (projector) screen and it was great fun.

So, I'm going to Germany july 30th, to Hockenheim, to watch a race there!! :D Can't wait to see all the cars, the noise, the atmosphere, the thrills :)

Yes, I'm going to bring Honda F1 racing jacket, and support Honda racing team as much as I can :)

Sad Sad day.:frown:

Why can't Button lose Alonso on the restarts? And how does Button not see it coming when Alonso loses him on the restarts??

Atleast rubens showed some improvement compared to previous finishes.

I still think that Honda has a good chance of winning a race this year.

Not unless Alonso and Kimi crash each other out.:frown:

I think Kimi is the best F1 driver so far in this past several years.

I stll think Ralf passed at least two cars under yellow in Australia, including Button.

I would rather take the 3 points in this race, rather than the possible unknown points in the next one. It was not a wise decision on Honda's part. Let's see how Button does in the next race.
