Re: Attention Sacramento and Bay Area: 10/14 Dawn Patrol Extreme or the 24 Hours of NSX
We headed out of Fort Hunter Liggett about 7:30 Sunday morning; took a quick pass over to the Mission again and found about 25 wild turkeys having a drivers meeting in the middle of the road. They decided to head East and have some breakfast, as did we.
On the way out of the Fort we saw several large flocks of the large black and white Magpies: the most I have ever seen anywhere including the Rockies and Sierra. The flashing black and white as they take off is very cool...
We took Arroyo Seco road over to Carmel Valley Road. Up in the mountains ran into 10 miles of heavy fresh tar and chips on G16. 20 MPH was about all I could do without doing a total stone blast to the car. Neat road with many twisties especially on the West side but give it a few weeks to clear off. They really over stoned it.
Keith, Carlos thanks for putting on a neat event. I definitely want to return to the Fort another day and explore more of those interesting roads.
Re: Attention Sacramento and Bay Area: 10/14 Dawn Patrol Extreme or the 24 Hours of NSX
The thing that is nice about the hiway 25, fort HL route is the minimal traffic, decent road condition and moderate curves with some straightaways which allows mostly fun driving.
Contrast that with Carmel Valley road that is very tight back and forth twisties which makes for hard work driving with not much chance to appreciate the scenery.

Thanks all for posting the pictures. They're great.
Steve, sorry we lost you  all of a sudden... you were just gone. I'm just glad you didn't have car trouble... I wasn't sure after going through all that debris on the road. :frown:
And count me in for doing it on a more regular basis too.
This was a fantastic meet & drive. Lots of great scenery, nice roads and good NSX fellowshipping. A BIG Thanks goes out to Carlos and Keith for putting it all together.
