We've had the fine dining and it's time for some fine driving (and casual dining).
“Myf16” and I would like to invite the Bay Area and Sacramento folks to participate in this fun event.
Event: October 14th drive down Hwy 25 and end up at Fort Hunter Liggett.
Early Saturday the 14th the Sacramento NSXs will head south on I-5 and rendezvous with “myf16” (place to be determined).
Myf16 will then lead you over to Highway 25 on Little Panoche Road and Panoche Road, adding another great hour of twisties to your day.... There you will meet up with the Bay Area contingent just south of Hollister.
The Bay Area NSXs will meet in Gilroy at the Starbucks in the Outlets shopping centers. We’ll head down Hwy 101 to 25 through Hollister until we rendezvous with the Sacramento contingent at 25/Panoche Rd.
From “myf16” :
You will be talking about this one for years.
Highway 25 south, Jolon Road to Fort Hunter Liggett, Del Venturi Road 10 miles north to The Indians (granite formation near the road in Los Padres National Forest), back to the museum at Mission San Antonio de Padua, and dinner at the Hacienda Guest Lodge.http://hacienda.newhalltelecom.net/Dinner Menu.htm(There's a gas station there too.) An evening cruise on Nacimiento Road is also possible.
If we hit Highway 25 by noon to 1PM, we should have plenty of time for people to start the return drive in daylight. I promise plenty of wildlife sightings (deer, rabbits, and quail) and a scenic water crossing. Yes, you will really drive your car across a river through 1-inch deep water, because that's the only "bridge" there is. I promise not to splash you.
Those who wish, can stay overnight at the Hacienda and have a superb drive in the morning. http://hacienda.newhalltelecom.net/ The options for that would include Nacimiento Road over to Highway 1 (a great choice for early risers) or a leisurely cruise south to Chimney Rock Road and Vineyard Road, or a simple return on Highway 25.
Hacienda rooms (an incredible value at only $35 to $65) are currently available for October 14, but that may not be true for long. So if there are any overnight people, presumably including anybody coming all the way from Sacramento, you really need to commit ASAP. Email me “myf16” and I'll help you set that up.
From "NSFRBLX":
The final departure times and meeting places will be ironed out and distributed as the event grows closer.
Here’s a motorcycle review of Hwy 25
