Attention Early V.I.N. 91 NSX Owners

I would really appreciate if early U.S. spec 91 NSX owners (MT000300 and earlier) to check their VIN plate in the drivers door jamb for MFG Date. My car is MT000265 and is MISSING the VIN plate (the car got repainted and it was removed by the sander prior to my purchase. Guess who is the lowest paid guy at the body shop? You guessed it, the sander.)

I would like to determine my MFG Date by compairison to vehicles as close to my VIN as possible. BEN has helped me get from #106 to #358. I was hoping to get a little closer.

If anyone knows how to get a replacement VIN plate I would be most appreciative. I have contacted Acura and they say that they can't replace it due to an agreement with Honda/Acura and the Dept of Motor Vehicles. I hope that someone knows something other than that.

WOW Thanks for answering my thread. I really appreciate it. I think that I have found a place that can make a replacement sticker. Your info will help with the MFG Date, being only 3 numbers difference. This is SUPER

This is the site that I found. I received a reply back from them and the new VIN sticker is $80 plus $15 for REGISTERED FedEx delevery. They need a picture of the old sticker or something with the VIN for verification.

Glad to help . Just to let you know,the first 63 NSX's shipped to USA on the 1991 models were never sold. The first one sold was 000064 which makes yours even that more attractive with such a low v.i.n. Jim

I am sure that BEN could give you a better answer, but they were the Pre-Production Vehicles used for test purposes. In other words Test Vehicles that were never sold to the public or licenced for use on the public roads.

There were 63 prototypes. I never heard that any of them ever left Japan, although a few of that number could have been used in U.S. mandated crash tests.

Mine is MT000085 Mf Date 6/90

some of the first 63 cars were eventually brought to US as race cars. I think the RealTime cars were like 6 and 9 or something. Others were used for racing as well, like Le Mans cars were within those 63. #1 was in the lobby at Tochigi back in the day....

Well according to the info that I have accumulated #1135 is 10/90 and #1231 is 11/90. Sorry I don't have anything closer for confirmation. Are you missing the VIN sticker in the door jamb also? Where did you find this info written in the dash? Maybe I can find this info also.

HELP, I still need to find a US Spec '91 that was made after my #265, but still in 07/90. I need this to confirm the MFG date for my car in order to get a accurate replacement door V.I.N. sticker. HELP

Hi Bradley, have you talked to or P/Med Tim at Ray Laks Acura, (888-RAY-LAKS) about this?
He's a great source for getting info like this. Maybe just to verify your mfg. date by the VIN.
I'm over in Dallas at Eurocopter for a field maintenace course for the LUH. Hoping for inital ground school while i'm here but doesn't look good. Sim is booked.
If your near by let me know.
Still not settled but getting close.
