As my NSX ages ...

I am torn by what to do in the future. I am sure many of you have struggled with this in the past and I am curious which way(s) you went.

When I bought my NSX several years ago, I went with an earlier model year exclusively to get the Sebring/Black color combination.

As my car gets ever closer to the 100K mile mark, I keep wondering if I am doing the right thing by continuing to put maintenance and upgrade $ into it, or get a newer version.

Right now I am not considering the option of not having an NSX and as much as I would like to keep my current NSX and add a later model year as well, I am sure I would have trouble convincing 'the woman'

that we needed a 4th car and a second NSX.

Perhaps I should just hold out for whatever shows up in 2004 (2005?)...

Curious what others on the board have done at this 'crossroads'.

Getting rid of the wife could be a lot more expensive than buying the fourth car.

I think that money spent on scheduled maintenance and repairs is almost always well spent. Money spent on mods depends on how much enjoyment you get out of them and whether that is worth the investment.

I agree with this, but have also noted that the 'repairs' part of the deal is increasingly common of late.

Hi Jonathan,
If you want to sell the car please let me know, my friend is interested on Silver NSX if your car is in mint condition

imo, id sit on the upgrades and just do maintenance. at some point the upgrades would make less $$ sense than the new version nsx IF the new version has much advanced performance. hey, if the new one came out for 80k say, and had 350plus hp, better brakes, etc, youd probably be better off trading up.

if money is burning a hole in your pocket it might make sense to trade in your current nsx for a different exotic until the new nsx comes out. 'variety is the spice of life'.

I was there this month at the grill, but didn't have time for the drive afterward.

I suppose I will wait another year or so and see what Acura has to offer

I say keep the car, upgrade every oem parts that you break. Such as brakes, instead of getting original brakes, upgrade them to Brembo. Instead of changing out oem air filter when it's due, replace it with K&N, clutch goes out, put Exudy, etc...

Jon,
I like you rims. Where did you get them? Is your car lowered?

They are Konig Tantrum 19/18 and the car is not lowered. The Konigs often get a bad rap being a 'knock off' but in reality they look great and I get a lot of compliments on them, they go particularly well with the color of the car -
