Please tell your son he is very lucky to have a dad like you. Since I can remember my birthday was never celebrated with/ by my family. I am the eldest son and at the moment the most successful among my siblings. I envy your son for having great family. :smile:

as for your family not celebrating *your* birthday, did you ever come to find out why that was? and - hopefully - have you made up for it by celebrating your **own** birthday in the way you want?

our family - like all families - has our own peculiarities... but in spite of them (or because of them?) we love and support one another.

one of the great treats of being a parent is that you get the opportunity to be the parent you wanted to have when you were growing up. truth be told, though, is it's a much harder - but much more enjoyable - gig than i ever dreamed.
