ARC air filter...good? bad? worth it?

Just wondering if anyone has any info on this air filter. Is it superior to the others, or just a different kind?

I run the ARC airbox, it sounds good, but I have not had experience with the other air boxes. I like the appearance more than anything else.

The ARC intake is a chamber design. The theory is to trap air therefore the engine has better response. It uses aluminum for better heat transfer to the outside. It uses a twin air filter, with dual velocity stack inside the chamber. I can get them for $400. Very nice design, but if you are looking for power increase, it will not make any difference--just like any other intakes on the market.

My fiance is a science teacher and was wondering what is the dual velocity chamber? And how it affects the airflow?

velocity stack is the air horn look-a-like intake "throat"

chamber is the "box" which the velocity stacks are enclosed.

Think of it as an OEM airbox made with aluminum, using cotton filters and instead of a plastic tube, there are two velocity stacks.
