Anyway to modify an O2 sensor to work w/ a test pipe?

You cannot "modify" the sensor. It is telling you the cat is not working properly, since it is not there. ODBII checks for the reaction time of the cat, using the second sensor, since youhave no cat the reaction time is infinite.

You will need to put the cats back or live with the check light. I am sure it is a 0420/0430 code, cat effeciency, front/rear.

Sorry for the news.

Thanks Larry :)

Actually my O2 sensor is there....

I was reading on the web somewhere that certain test pipe set-ups has a "shield" in front of the O2 sensor, so exhaust gas does not pass directly
through the sensor. This is suppose to stop the check engine light from going off...???? Does it make any sense to you?

TIA

I meant the cat was not there. In regard to your other comment about a shield, it make little sense to me. ODBII seems way smarter then to be fooled like that, but you never know. Also some ECU's may have a diferent way of determining proper operation, and for some this may fool it. Pretty sure the NSX system will still detect a problem:).

See you at NSXPO2004:)
