Just wondering how many owners actually use their tape deck. I wish I still had a tape laying to even test the damn thing's working or not:smile:

I'm 80s/90s ol'skool guy, but I find it much easier to hook up an iPod instead.

I really hate the tape deck. However it comes in handy for my iPod since I do use the iPod adapter.

My buddy has a 2001 Porsche carrera and I used to make fun of his outdated tape deck, now my NSX has the same damn thing.

Yes, I do all the time as the tapes do not skip.

ipod adapter also........

Ive got my huge box of 80s mix tapes rattling around,I've even cleaned the heads on it:wink:

Oh yes, I have been cleaning it and using it for my iPod Touch cassette adapter. I tried out the most expensive FM transmiter but didn't work well for me because I unplugged my radio

Don't mean to hijack this thread, but for those of you using the cassette player for Ipod adapter, how's the sound quality?

I've tried the FM Mod. and it was horrible.

Worth giving it a try until I update the head unit?

Thanks

How about a demag?

Best tape deck I ever had was in my 1980 Corvette. A Sony that adjusted the azimuth for every tape you put in. Sounded awesome.

Tried the FM modulator too....very poor quality....the cassette adapter, although not high most audiophiles list of mods, sounds pretty good to me.

Good enough that I don't feel the need to wire in something else. Mostly I listen to the motor more than the radio anyway!

It sounds ok. Got to always turn the Dolby off

Mt audio tapes recorded on my Nakamechi deck thru my Crown amplifier on metal tapes are terrffic quality. I have an Ipod adapter in my NSX, but love my custom tapes.

The FM modulator is the suck. The tape adapter isn't great but well worth $14.

whats a tape deck..lol...

I still have 8 track tapes and player.

Whats sad is my personal assistant (who's 22:P) have never heard of 8-tracks. Whats even more sad is that she's never seen a record album until recently!

Switched mine out for a record player. Use mostly 45's.

"Still using" implies that at one time I actually used it. In eight years of ownership, I've never. I don't even know if it works. I'd test it, except I don't think I could find a cassette tape to try. Those are all gone, too.

I think 8 tracks are making a come back.

I used to hang out w/ this girl who had one of the old Pontiac Grand Prix's (did they all come in Shag Green?) that had an 8-track player in it. Problem was she only had one 8-track.......DEVO. I'll probably start convuling if I ever hear 'Whip It' again.

My tape deck holds my cel phone nicely.

Has anyone tried this with their tape deck, I think this is the coolest.
