anyone seen this bumper?

I saw the bumper on Mike's car at ALMS this weekend (but, then again, I've seen it since it was a prototype as well). It looks good and had NSX owners walking up to his car w/ that "something is different" look. Then when they realized the difference, almost everyone commented on how nice it looked.

My opinion, it looks like a mess.

Ah, I can always count on Trev to burst a bubble.

I have to say I somewhat agree. On that silver car if the centre silver piece in the mouth was painted black or deleted, and the lip was less busy looking (ie. GT-One type, or even painted matt black), fogs missing, the car will look much cleaner.

I do appreciate the originality of the look and I would love to be in line for a new nose as well, but there are ways to maintain the clean lines of the NA1.

The pictures don't do the new nose justice. It looks great in person.

You can paint the center piece black if thats the look you want. The fogs were added on, so you won't get those w/ the bumper and you can put any lip on there for 02+ bumpers.

Where is the symmetry and Congruency?
A dogs breakfast is what I see.
Not to hurt anyones feelings, but just what my eyes see.
Nice job though!

I'll have to agree with Trev here. I think that's why the newer front end doesn't have the turn signals... 'cause it doesn't match the lines.

But if you do make the indentation on the headlights the same as the older fronts, soften the corners around the signals and change the angles on the corners a bit, it should match up again.

Great work though, don't get me wrong.

LOL, you are a photochop (or was that MS Paint?) master. I bow at the sensei.

This picture is interesting:

You can see the smoothness of the complete '02 nose (black), how the bumper lights, 'mouth' opening etc line up on the orig front end (white), and the hybrid of the two combined (silver).

IMHO: I think I am going to say that unless you go through a full '02 conversion, keep the orig aesthetics as they were intended by the good people in Tochigi. :P

If you like it, you like it. If you don't, you don't..........
When's that group buy going to happen???
Sorry, I'm getting a little impatient here......

I for one will be getting one of these when i have the money...

To each his own, I guess. That's why some mod their cars and some leave it bone stock. No choice is a bad choice, everyone has their own taste and opinion when it comes to cars, clothes, jewelry, etc, etc, etc, even women. Anyway, IMO...I think the bumper is gorgious. Gotta give Mike C props for stepping up and doing something new. Bridging that gap for those who can't decide whether to go Full NA2 conversion or keep NA1 with the pop-ups.

Keep the mod going Mike...she looking good.

I see a car designer lurking in you as I was just thinking the same things. The scoop in front of the headlights bugs me. Other than that, a cool way to update the look of flip up style without an entire new front end.

I looked in the Vender section and I cant find anything on this yet. I need a new bumper and I like this one so I was hoping instead of getting a stock one again I could get something different.

Hold on just a little longer. I had breakfast last weekend w/ the guy who has that bumper and he tells me that the first batch is very close to being ready for sale.

I too have seen this in person and once you see it your going to want it. I think if we started a group by list or a standby list that it would get the ball rolling. I need to be on this list as I need a new bumper anyway.

Don't "need" a new bumper, but this could change my mind...

Looks very sharp as shown on the silver car, with the ducted lip spoiler (Cantrel?). I suspect it might look almost as good in Berlina Black.

While I've been contemplating the idea of an '02 conversion next year, this and a Type R hood and HID conversion might lead me to put it off or skip it.

Very interesting. I hope something "official" happens soon.

Have they came up with a price yet or anything like that. Like a few of ther other members stated if we start a group buy list it couldnt hurt. If someone has already started a list and the price is right add me to it please. If there hasnt been a list made out. We should start one and get the ball rolling.
